CAPTAIN – Felice “Mauro” Barletta

Italian

Languages: Italian, English and French

With an endless passion for the sea and yachts, Mauro joined his first yacht as

Mate in 1989. From there he moved up and ran successful charter programs on

72m ROSENKAVALIER, 57m PRINCESS LAUREN, 60m ALTAIR, 90m LAUREN L and

60m ANDREAS L. Mauro’s vast experience over the years includes the

Mediterranean (East and West), Greece and Turkey, the Middle East and

Maldives, the Baltics, the east coast of the USA and the Caribbean – in Mauro

you have a captain who is able to show his guests the very best of each location!

He is highly qualified, extremely competent and the crew thrives under his

command as he is both compassionate and exacting. A can-do captain, there is

no request too small or dream too big that Mauro, along with his crew, will not

endeavor to fulfill. A charismatic host and an exceptionally capable and

qualified Captain, Mauro is easily entrusted with guests of all nationalities, from the very young to the

CHEF – Ian Buffington

American

Languages: English and Spanish, basic French

Born and raised in the Midwestern state of Iowa, Ian grew up hunting and fishing

with his father, camping with his family, and ice fishing in the cold Iowa winters.

Rewarded by the surrounding farmland, Ian had access to some of the best

meats, wild game, and freshwater fish one could find and cooking the bounty

became one of his passions. At the age of 19 Ian attended The Prestigious

Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York, earning a Bachelor’s

Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. To this Ian added his certificate

from The Society of Wine Educators as a Certified Specialist of Wine. He is well

versed in every style of cuisine and has extensive wine and food pairing

knowledge; something he delights in using every chance he gets! He uses the

freshest of ingredients and loves to provision for guests at local markets. Ian is a

calm force onboard never allowing any pressure to get in the way of him creating his incredible cuisine.

Ian believes the combination of hand selected fresh ingredients, loving creativity and spectacular

presentation are sure to ignite all the senses and stimulate the taste buds. He has a keen mind, a friendly

demeanor and a great sense of humour...Ian invites guests to stop by the galley to be a part of where

the magic happens! Ian's interests still include the outdoors; especially fishing (the crew believe there are

some "big fish tales" here!) A little known secret: Ian is an expert at making his own beer! Add to that, he

is a muscle car enthusiast and you have a well-rounded chef!

SOUS-CHEF – Peter Jahnke

American

Having been in the service industry since 2000, Peter is an accomplished addition

to the INVICTUS crew. Peter’s experience includes working as a chef, butcher,

cheese monger, and cocktail bartender in many fast paced, progressive markets

– something he has thoroughly enjoyed. His extensive knowledge and dedicated

energy combined with a fervent interest in adding to his skill set have repeatedly

marked him as a valuable asset to the INVICTUS team. After graduating The

Culinary Institute of America, Peter plied his talents in Texas, California, New York

and London, making him very well qualified and experienced. He loves being a

part of this incredible galley team! When not otherwise engaged, Peter enjoys

remote exploration by wheel, keel or boot.

CHIEF STEWARDESS – Alessandra Bellanova

Italian

Languages: Italian, English, French

Since 1996, Alessandra has been passionately pursing her career as a Chief

Stewardess, working on such yachts as NANOOK and ANDREAS L. Under her

conscientious leadership, her attention to detail and remarkable service is an

integral part of the INVICTUS program. Energetic and optimistic, Alessandra is a

natural at making people smile and feel so welcomed into the INVICTUS family that

they want to stay longer! Be prepared…the singular goal of Alessandra and her

efficient team of stewardesses is to create an unforgettable experience for each

and every one of the guests! In her down time, Alessandra loves cycling and

running and had been a competitive swimmer for ten years. She is looking forward

to warmly welcoming guests of all ages onboard.

2ND STEWARDESS – Keryn Rankin

New Zealand

Keryn is from New Zealand and a valued member of this top notch interior team.

Having been a flight attendant for Emirates Airline for 4 years, Keryn easily

transitioned her exceptional service skills to the yachting industry. Her passion for

impeccable presentation and flawless service is evident and guests truly feel

pampered. Keryn loves being onboard and is always ready to leap into action to

help guests with their needs, large or small. Her friendly demeanour, eagerness to

please, and experience in yachting make her a highly regarded asset to the

INVICTUS crew. Keryn is a keen diver and is hoping to complete her Yoga teacher

training course in the near future – Namaste!

STEWARDESS – Megan Kiser

American

Megan grew up in South Carolina and before discovering yachting she studied

radiology at Colorado Christian University. It was while bartending on the side that

Megan cultivated her natural ability to provide exceptional service. Her vivacious

spirit and positive nature help to create a wonderful warm atmosphere on board.

Megan is bright and tireless and her willingness to add to the comfort of the guests

makes her a pleasure to have onboard! In her spare time Megan loves swimming,

hiking, biking, and exploring new places.

STEWARDESS - Pauline de Kock

South African

Languages: English, Afrikaans, very basic Greek

Pauline hails from the coastal town of Hermanus in the Cape, which is famous for

whale watching. Multitalented, Pauline achieved great success in her rowing

career whilst studying for a financial degree amidst the gorgeous wine lands of

Stellenbosch. A lover of world travel, Pauline has adapted easily to life onboard

INVICTUS and is keen to devote her abundant energy to kindly welcoming guests

from all over the world on board. She is eager to make their experience

unforgettable! Pauline loves the outdoors and enthusiastically participates in

outdoor activities and for those quieter moments, reading is the perfect escape.

STEWARDESS – Kari Walsh

American

Kari hails from Northern California near the San Francisco valley. This bright young

lady graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Business Communications.

An avid Water Polo player at University, Kari went on to coach at her old high

school where she was well loved by her students. Rest assured Kari has a great work

ethic and is always eager to provide exceptional service delivered with her

fantastic smile.

LAUNDRESS – Victoria Thomas

British

Languages: English and fluent German

Before joining the yachting industry 2012, Victoria had travelled the world with

Emirates Airlines in Dubai; consequently she also speaks basic Arabic. Victoria has

worked in many facets of the service industry including hostess, housekeeping, food

and beverage and even a driver at a luxury chalet company in Chamonix Mont

Blanc! Her previous yachts include 45m AVA, 62m CANDYSCAPE II, and 70m

REVERIE. One of her many talents is the ability to work at a fast pace while still

ensuring the quality of the work – and all with a delightful attitude and smile on her

face. Victoria has selflessly volunteered her time in Cambodia teaching English to

local children. This sweet young lady is a welcome addition to the INVICTUS family.

CHIEF ENGINEER – Villy Sorenson

Danish

Languages: Danish, fluent English

Born and raised in Denmark, Villy graduated from Aalborg Engineering Schools as a

Marine Engineer in 1984. For the next 8 years, Villy worked on commercial Cargo

vessels from the Baltic to Greenland and then moved to commercial Passenger

vessels and cruise liners for the next 17 years. Villy entered the yachting industry in

2007 and his previous yachts include PRIVATE LIVES, the 135m AL MIRQAB, AUDACIA,

and AQUALIBRIUM. He brings with him a tremendous amount of experience with all

types of electrical equipment and installations and is an expert in trouble shooting

navigation equipment, fire protection equipment, hydraulics equipment,

refrigeration equipment and air conditioning equipment, etc. Villy takes his job

seriously and has immense pride in the work he does and the results show. Dedication to the operation

and safety are his first concerns.

2ND ENGINEER – Ryan Gibson

Australian

Born in Sydney, Australia, Ryan's love of the ocean led him to explore the world. He

spent his early years boating with his parents prior to starting a Marine Mechanics

apprenticeship. Keen to further his engineering experience and knowledge, Ryan

has dedicated his time and passion to earning his Y3 certification. His love for

engineering and INVICTUS is apparent and if you can coax him away from the

engine room, you will be in for a tube ride of your life!! Away from INVICTUS, you will

find Ryan surfing or on the golf course.

1ST OFFICER – Gavin Docking

Australian

Gavin was born in Melbourne, Australia. As a teenager he was a keen windsurfer

and sail maker and was always near the water so the yachting industry was a

natural fit. In 1997 Gavin started his yachting career sailing square riggers on Lake

Michigan and later delivering yachts in the Florida/Caribbean area. He returned to

maritime college in Australia, worked on S/Y SVANEN in Sydney Harbour, eventually

moving up to captaining dive boats on the Great Barrier Reef and Papua New

Guinea. In 2004 he moved to the luxury yacht industry and his previous yachts

include SEAHAWK, TIGEE D’OR and NORTHERN STAR. Well qualified for the position,

Gavin holds an MCA 3000 ton Captains license and an Australian, Class 4 masters

License. He is a dedicated and hardworking professional who enjoys being part of

this fantastic crew.

Over the years Gavin has cruised the Caribbean, Atlantic and Mediterranean seas extensively, and has

also had the opportunity to visit more remote destinations, including Alaska, Tahiti and New Zealand.

When not on yachts, Gavin lives in Seattle with his wife Cassie, where they spend as much time hiking

and exploring the outdoors as possible. He is a very keen photographer and also enjoys SCUBA Diving

and Golf. He looks forward to welcoming you on board!

2ND OFFICER – Russell Baisch

American

Russell is from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina where he grew up surfing, fishing, and

hunting along the Carolina shores. His career in boating has included running

parasail boats and captaining small charter fishing vessels so when guests feel the

urge to go fishing or just want to capture some general knowledge about the

ocean and the creatures that live in it, he’s your guy! Russell also holds an OUPV

Coast Guard License and is a certified diver with countless hours of experience. He

is a very courteous Southern gentleman who will assist guests of all ages with any

needs they may have while aboard INVICTUS. Russell definitely lives and breathes

"Southern hospitality" and guests are charmed by him!

BOSUN / MATE – Justin Hall

American

Justin was born and raised on a lake in Greensboro, North Carolina. Boating, fishing

and enjoying the outdoors have always been the passions of his life. He has

captained many fishing boats, parasail and dive boats and he now holds his 100 ton

license and an Advanced Dive Certificate. Moving into the luxury yachting industry

was a logical step and Justin thrives in this environment. It is with great excitement

and anticipation that Justin looks forward to attending to all the guests needs and

sharing his obsession for the outdoors life during their stay on board INVICTUS.

Watersports? Justin is the first to assist and he adds so much fun to the experience

that the guests don't want to stop!

LEAD DECKHAND – Karl Lang

American

Karl is from Huntington Beach, California and is very at home in the yachting

industry as his father is a long-time Captain on America’s west coast. It was during

high school and University that Karl developed a great work ethic while working

part time on many yachts on California’s coast. It is in this spirit that he always strives

to deliver a great experience to guests. After graduating with a Literature and

Rhetoric degree, Karl joined the Owner’s charter program starting with DOMANI

and now with INVICTUS. Karl is very knowledgeable and experienced with maritime

activities and holds a US Coast Guard 100 ton Captain’s license.

DECKHAND – Mitchell Williams

South African

Languages: English and Afrikaans

Mitch was born and raised in the picturesque coastal town of Durban, South Africa

where he loved to spend time at the beach, surfing and swimming. He joined the

yachting industry after graduating in 2011 and has proven to be a natural fit for this

upbeat charter program. Mitch is an enthusiastic and energetic lad who thrives on

meeting new people. Guests love chatting with him about the shared experiences

of the places he has travelled and yet to travel.

CREWDOG - Victor

Born Summer 2013 in California, Victor is a delightful chocolate Miniature Poodle.

Victor is shy with strangers and beloved by all the crew. "House"-trained and

exceptionally well behaved, there has been more than one guest who has tried to

take Victor home!
