PROJECT OBJECTIVES

To provide information on land resources, capability and risks as a tool for a better knowledge of the territory and a proper allocation of resources to the agricultural sector.

to reinforce the national institutes :

laboratory, IT and GIS equipment

training staff in the application of international methodologies for the evaluation and interpretation of databases on land resources

The following maps and data have been used to compile the database:

·     Soil map of BiH at 1:50000·     Topographic Map of BiH at 1:25000·     Geologic Map of BiH at 1:100000

The SOTER methodology has been applied for the first time on the territory of BiH, following the PROCEDURE MANUAL (FAO 1995). The methodology was created for 1:1000000 scale, but can be applied up to 1:100000 scale level.

Relational database – data can be stored and retrieved easily with no duplication
