Istanbul International Invention Fair - ISIF’16 was held in Istanbul on 03-06 March 2016 with the participation of 324 inventions from 24 countries. ISIF was set off for the purpose of social welfare by the commercialisation of technical knowledge and bringing together the national and international participants with the activities of Invention, R&D and innovation which will add value to the development of our country.

ISIF’16 has achieved an important place among all invention fairs around the world with its content and results, and ISIF’16 came out of only being a fair event through the workshops and panels and also has become an information networking centre of the whole ecosystem.

In this context, we are pleased to announce that 2nd Istanbul International Invention Fair - ISIF’17 will be held on 02-04 March 2017 in Istanbul WOW Convention Center, with the goal of sustainability and development of Istanbul International Invention Fair from the first project stage.

2nd Istanbul International Inventions Fair - ISIF’17 will be held by Honorary Patronage of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, under the patronage of International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), hosted by Turkish Patent Institute (TPI), organised by Anatolia Inventions and Inventors Association, supported by World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the European Patent Office (EPO).

The target group of ISIF’17 contains international and national individual inventors, R&D centres, manufacturers and commercial companies, industrialists, entrepreneurs, special researchers, patent consultants, patent offices, private or state-sponsored research institutes, science parks, technology development zones, technology transfer offices, universities, laboratories, institutions and organisations related to intellectual property rights, angel investors, venture capital groups, innovation promoters, patent attorneys, invention associations, relevant government agencies and non-governmental organisations. ISIF will continue to be a strong supporter of the ecosystem with the B2B meetings, workshops and panels.

‘ISIF International Relations and Participation’ is the most important features that make it different from other invention events in our country.

The aim of ISIF’17 is to spread the culture of innovation and consciousness effectively to all layers of society and ecosystem. It is aimed to ensure the sharing of knowledge and technology between countries as well as the visibility of the inventions on an international basis and the possibility of providing global commercialization.

ISIF was held successfully on 03-06 March 2016 with the partcipation of 24 countries for the first year. International partcipants took part 30% of the total fair area.

International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and its members, international investment institutions and sectoral unions with studies and agreements will take place on 02-04 March 2017 in the 2nd Istanbul International Invention Fair, and it is planned more countries participation.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONSOne of the most important goals of ISIF’17 is to reach the world standards licensing and commercialization of inventions rates. ISIF’17 “Networking Partner” is in a cooperation with TECHIN2B for the purpose of the most effectively presentation of the inventions by their own inventors and to reach to the investors & industrialists. TECHIN2B technology portal will be used for the registration of the inventions during ISIF’17.

TECHIN2B is the technology hub for accelerating validation, simplifying portfolio management and facilitating network engagement for tech entrepreneurs, professionals and investors.

ISIF’17 NETWORKING PARTNER

ISIF wants to achieve to bring together the investors with inventors around a common purpose and accordingly to achieve licensing and commercialisation negotiations which are the most important outcomes. In this context, the angel investor networks and venture capital groups are attached great importance in ISIF’17 as in ISIF’16.

On the content of ISIF’17, the collaborations with the Investor Network offers to the inventors;

• to benefit from the events national and international studies prepared on behalf of individual and institutional developments,

• to work together with the highest entrepreneurial potential of Turkey,

• to have knowledge of investment trends and international entrepreneurship,

• to create networks with international successful entrepreneurs, investors and leaders.

2nd Istanbul International Invention Fair - ISIF’17, undertakes as a duty to convert from knowledge into products, create added-value and commercialise. The collaboration with the industry sector is the most important factor in strengthening activities of invention, R&D and innovation.

The rapid expansion of new ideas and inventions is extremely important in terms of economic growth and social progress. Economic and social benefits will level up to the highest level in our country with the activation of companies’ potential of conversion of new ideas / inventions to the industrial products.

In this regard, the industrialists as a investors with the industrial companies in the private sector and collaborations with the occupational upper unions are planned to take place in the most comprehensive way at ISIF and it is maintained working on this purpose.

ISIF’17 is an educational and sharing platform which brings together the ecosystem of inventions, R&D and innovations. ISIF is the right place to establish new connections and collaborate with the international and national individual inventors, R&D centres, manufacturers and commercial companies, industrialists, entrepreneurs, special researchers, patent consultants, patent offices, private or state-sponsored research institutes, science parks, technology development zones, technology transfer offices, universities, laboratories, institutions and organisations related to the intellectual property rights, angel investors, venture capital groups, innovation promoters, patent attorneys, inventors’ associations, relevant government agencies and non-governmental organisations.

• Standard booth rental is minimum 4 m2.

• Maximum of 2 inventions will be shown per each 4 m2 in the official fair catalogue.

• Standard booth rental fee is 200 €+ VAT (%18) per m2.

• Included in the standard 4m2 booth rental fee are: 1 table (75x80x80 cm), 2 chairs, 1 electrical socket, carpet, uniform fascia board, 1 trash can and 1 spot light.

• ‘Additional Services Form’ is required to fill out for the additional service and furnitures.

• 3kW of electricity consumption is included in the booth fee. Please fill out the “Form 2- Additional Services” for your request of more than 3kW electricity consumption.

• The booth height is 2,40 meter for standart booths.

• Empty booth space rental is minimum 12 m2.

• Maximum of 2 inventions will be shown per each 4 m2 in the official fair catalogue.

• Empty booth space rental fee is 180 € + VAT(%18) per m2.

• Another service is not included in the price. It is only the rental fee.

The largest convention centre in Istanbul accommodates up the WOW Convention Center a total of 34 meeting rooms, 8,500m2 of meeting space and a 6,500 person capacity. WOW Convention Center consists of two blocks, with a title of the largest hall in Istanbul is Sapphire Room, with 3108m2 of column-free space can serve 4,000 people. Sapphire Room in the A-Block along with capacities of 225m2 and 180m2, with its own foyer, can be divided into 3 parts, Zircon and Onyx halls by separators. WOW Convention Center A-Block gives more services in 4 halls with different sizes such as 20m2 and 52 m2.

WOW Convention Center B Block 1200m2 area, with a capacity of 1,000 people, the largest room in Yakut, can be divided into 3 parts. The most important feature of the Hall is the collapsible telescopic tribune system provides a significant operation ease in all the meetings. The size of the other halls of 225m2 and 70m2 and most of them has daylight in the B-Block. There is also a VIP lounge with resting, working and meeting rooms.

4-star WOW Airport Hotel and 5-star WOW Istanbul Hotel has 635 rooms in total in the same area with WOW Convention Center. Istanbul International Invention Fair - ISIF’16 was held in Istanbul on 03-06

March 2016 and 24 countries participated.

The opening speeches were made by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Science,

Industry and Technology Deputy Undersecretary Yunus Emre Karaosmanoglu,

International Federation of Inventors’ Associations President Alireza Rastegar,

Turkish Patent Institute President Prof. Dr. Habip Asan and European Patent

Office International Relations Director Carlo Pandolfi. After the speeches, they

attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and visited the exhibition stands.

2. IFIA World Congress was held concurrently with ISIF’16 and LES 100

Education, Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Workshop on Evaluation of the

invention in Turkey, Current Status and Potential Analysis Panel, Patent

Research Seminar, Technology Transfer Platform Introduction workshops

contributed the fair to be an information-sharing center.

The awards ceremony was held with the participation of Republic of Turkey

Science, Industry and Technology Minister Fikri Isik on 05 March 2016, the

inventors were awarded the prize as gold, silver, bronze medals and special

awards were presented.

Istanbul International Invention Fair ISIF’16 was the first and only international

invention fair of Turkey, which was an arena of gathering all the ecosystem

actors with the participation of 264 Institution / Organization and Individual

Inventors, 324 exhibited inventions and 4.207 visitors.

ISIF’16 Award Ceremony was held on March 6, 2016 with the participation of the Republic of Turkey Minister of Science,

Industry and Technology Fikri ISIK, 149 awards were given by Turkish Patent Institute, International Federation of

Inventors’ Associations, World Intellectual Property Organization and including the special awards of Ankara Chamber

of Industry. ISIF’16 Jury Board consisted of the national and international 18 specialists examined all the inventions

one by one and carried on their scores based on the specified criteria 2 days long during the fair. The main goal is to

encourage the inventors by the award system and referring to the ranking points; 11 Special Awards, 36 Gold Medals,

45 Silver Medals and 57 Bronze Medals were presented to the winners.
