Multifunctional, it facilitatesaudio and video alarm verification, re-mote or in-situ programming and activa-tion via PC, as well as alarm and eventtransmission using common communica-tion paths (PSTN, ISDN, IP, GSM/GPRS).And when combined with the range ofSiemens detectors, the resulting systemoffers the highest detection accuracy andunmatched false alarm immunity.

Future-proof and scalable systemIn its basic configuration, the SI410 sys-tem is based around the central controlunit and the LCD remote keypad. An inte-grated E-Bus system and plug-in on-boardmodules enable easy expansion with upto 464 individually identifiable detectorsand sensors. Additional keypads, powersupplies or input/output modules are alsoeasily added to cater for new areas orbuildings.

High system integration capabilityThe system supports wired and wirelessdevices, and also allows for further secu-rity functional integration, such as doorcontrol (e.g. setting/unsetting) or localvideo surveillance (e.g. alarm triggeredvideo recording).

The programming of all parameters iseasily done via the LCD keypads or withthe Sylcom® software, so the risk of in-correct operations is virtually eliminated.Communication modules also allow forcustomised alarm transmission andsystem parameterisation and maintenance.

Reduced operator error with logicalinterface

Over 95% of all false alarms can betraced back to improper user manipula-tion. In most cases, the alarm has alreadybeen transmitted by the time the error isidentified.

With an Intrunet SI410 system, the userinterface is simple, logical and unam-biguous. The control panel can be oper-ated using the LCD keypad or externalsystems such as Danger ManagementStations. The entire process (display, op-eration, etc.) can also be recorded usingmacros for future re-use or updates. Andusers benefit from a short period of time

Easy activation and configurationThe configuration is easily done via theLCD remote keypad with plain text dis-plays. Several options of communicationdevices are available (for connection overa standard telephone line, ISDN or IP net-work). The dialers enable remote opera-tion of the central control unit via a PC(upload and download modes), and alsoallow for messages to be transmitted viaSMS. Voice announcements can also betransmitted to designated individuals(optional audio/voice modules).

Reliable event logAll events are stored in the event memory,along with the date and time of occur-rence. A separate event memory is avail-able for each defined security partition,as well as for the whole system.

Simple event investigationEvent entries can be identified individual-ly. This allows for the status of each ofthe connected devices to be displayedand for the origin of an alarm to betraced. The detectors can be controlled in-dividually or in groups by room or parti-tion, for the monitoring of especiallycritical areas.

Flexible system activation optionsUp to 500 “movement corridors” can bedefined using 20 elaborate calendars,and up to two years in advance. Thisfunctionality enables the security set-tings of a partition to be programmeddepending on the time and day to allowe.g. cleaning staff to move freely afterhours, whilst leaving other rooms orareas secure. It is also possible to activatethe partition once all the occupants haveleft (temporary code).

A Danger Management Station can helpreduce the time spent on system operationand maintenance. SI410 was designed tointegrate seamlessly with Siemens and3rd party Danger Management Stations.

Multi-tenant buildings monitoringBuildings can be split into independentlyoperated partitions, each comprising de-tectors and sensors monitoring assignedrooms or floors. Interior, exterior or re-mote alarms and accessories can be allo-cated to each partition. These can also beprogrammed and switched to “unset”,“part set” and “full set” modes. And de-pending on the security requirements,partitions can be linked to primary, sec-ondary or virtual partitions and controlledaccordingly. This partition structure isideal for individualised monitoring ofcritical or complex areas such as shop-in-shops or multi-tenant commercial build-ings.

Sophisticated alarm verification and trans-mission for reliable false alarm prevention

Pre-defined alarm situations withmulti-stage alarm actuation

Detectors can be positioned andprogrammed so the signals are sent in a defined sequence before an alarm istriggered. This can also be achievedthrough one detector activating x numberof times during a certain time, or withmultiple detectors required to activatewithin a given time frame.

The control unit also pro-vides the option of requesting remotesupport using the keypad audio function.

Excellent system redundancy andfault finding

Siemens understands that system relia-bility is key to strengthened security sosystem redundancy and fault findingfunctionality are integral to a SI410 sys-tem: the E-Bus can be separated into gal-vanic isolated partitions with “isolator”modules, so if one part of the system isattacked, the rest of the system is notaffected. This also facilitates fault findingas a tamper alarm is triggered by eachdevice connected on the E-Bus individu-ally in case of operational failure. Thebattery, mains and fuses are continuouslymonitored and failures are reported tothe main board via the E-Bus. In addition,the IP and GSM (GPRS) modules provideredundant connection via IP and GSM(GPRS) and SMS event messages. Theconnection to the Sylcom software pro-

vides further additional fault findingtools, by allowing devices which aredown to be identified clearly on screen.

Remote and on-site configurationand maintenance

The Sylcom software can be used forconfiguration updates and maintenanceof the Sintony control panel. The systemcan also be accessed locally or remotelyvia telephone and IP networks.

Intrunet control systems – a familyapproach

Siemens strives to offer intruder detec-tion systems which are easy to install andto use. With the Intrunet SI system family,which also includes the SI120 and SI220control units for small to medium sizedsystems, training is facilitated as all 3units use one programming software. Acommon range of internal and externaldetectors and keypads further contributeto providing a consistant look and feel forthe installer and user alike.

User-friendly keypads

The keypads are equipped with a graphical or a 2-line, 16 character display. The display and the keys are fitted with backlights.The 5 LEDs display the most important system states. Different versions are available: with or without a flap, with audio func-tion, with large LCD display and with integrated card reader (cards and tags supplied separately). The latest additions to therange also include key-switch and annunciation modules.

Audio and video alarmverification

The SI410 intrusion control unitprovides an integrated solution forremote audio and video alarmverification. Buildings can be dividedinto verification zones, in each of whichlistening in, communicating to peopleor visually verifying an alarm isachievable via the keypad. This alsogives the option to request remotesupport using the keypad.

E-Bus / line expansions

Plug-in modules and peripherals such asLCD keypads, line expansions for inputsand outputs, audio/video or externalpower supplies support a professionalinstallation. The SI410 control unitfeeds, controls and monitors themodules via E-Bus.

Communication modules

A selection of communication modulesare available for the Intrunet controlunits. They can be used for alarmtransmission, parameterisation andmaintenance. The Sylcom softwareenables a cost-effective facilitymanagement.
