SONGS OF WORSHIP A. 1. Great is the Lord, He is holy and just, by His power we trust in His love. Great is the Lord, He is faithful and true; by His mercy He proves He is love.

Great is the Lord and worthy of glory! Great is the Lord and worthy of praise

Great is the Lord; now lift up your voice, now lift up your voice;

Great is the Lord! Great is the Lord!

2. Great is the Lord, He is holy and just, by His power we trust in His love.

Great is the Lord, He is faithful and true; by His mercy He proves He is love.

Great are You Lord, and worthy of glory! Great are You, Lord,

and worthy of praise

Great are You, Lord! I lift up my voice, I lift up my voice:

Great are You, Lord! Great are You, Lord!

B. Blessing and honour, glory and power be unto the Ancient of Days

From every nation, all of creation, bow before the Ancient of Days

Ev’ry tongue in heaven and earth shall declare Your glory, Ev’ry knee shall bow at Your throne in worship

You will be exalted, O God, and Your Kingdom shall not pass away,

O Ancient of Days (rept.)

Your kingdom shall reign over all the earth

Sing unto the Ancient of Days;

For none can compare to Your matchless worth,

Sing unto the Ancient of Days.

Ev’ry tongue in heaven…………………..Ancient of Days.

C. Alleluia, Alleluia, for the Lord God Almighty reigns! Alleluia, alleluia, for the Lord God Almighty reigns!

Alleluia, holy, holy are you Lord God Almighty,

Worthy is the Lamb, worthy is the Lamb

You are holy, holy are You, Lord God Almighty,

Worthy is the Lamb, worthy is the Lamb. Amen.

[Children 10 years and under leave for JUNIOR CHURCH]

[Brief Period of Silence]

[Sung Prayerfully]

Hear my cry O Lord, attend unto my prayer For Thou hast been, a shelter for me.

From the end of the earth, will I cry unto you And a strong tower, from the enemy

When my heart is overwhelmed When my heart is overwhelmed

Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I, Lead me to the Rock, that is higher than I

That is higher than I. That is higher than I.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION & INTERCESSION

[Response]

Lead me Lord, lead me in thy righteousness

Make thy way plain before Thy face.

for it is Thou, Lord, Thou, Lord only

that makest me dwell in safety.

HYMN OF MEDITATION – No. 2 - Beneath the cross of Jesus 1 Beneath the cross of Jesus, I fain would take my stand,

The shadow of a mighty rock within a weary land;

A home within the wilderness, a rest upon the way

From the burning of the noontide heat, and the burden of the day.

2. O safe and happy shelter, O refuge tried and sweet

O trusting-place where heaven’s love and heaven’s justice meet! As to the holy patriarch that wondrous dream was given

So seems my Saviour’s cross to me, a ladder up to heaven

3. Upon that cross of Jesus mine eye at times can see

The very dying form of One who suffered there for me;

And from my smitten heart with tears, two wonders I confess,

The wonders of His glorious love and my unworthiness.

4 . I take, O Cross, thy shadow for my abiding-place,

I ask no other sunshine than the sunshine of His face;

Content to let the world go by, to know no gain nor loss;

My sinful self, my only shame, my glory all the cross.

[Elizabeth Clephane: Tune – St Christopher]
