In this session we will go over the new MatchPoint features and roadmap. We will discuss the recently released version

5.5, and give a preview of the upcoming 6.1 and 6.5 releases. The 6.5 release will have a Windows platform option so an

IBM I will no longer be required.

What is CM MatchPoint?

o CM MatchPoint is the premier CM (change management) product for Plex.o Written in Plex so therefore has a GUI (graphical user interface) environment.o Supports ticket or change request tracking, and also provides code checkout and

promotion capabilities.o Provides a method to import from Plex what needs to be promoted.o Can also maintain your 3GL or hand coded objects as well.o Also provides project management features and the ability to perform billing as well.o Timesheets for developers is also included to record time spent on various projects.

Will also store and use the rate calculated for developers if using consulting resources.

o MatchPoint 5.5 is the first release that the CM First Austin office is fully responsible for.

o Major bug fix release.o Focus was on outstanding reported bugs & performance improvements. o Also the first release to separate help information to be specifc to the

MatchPoint version.o All future versions of MatchPoint will have their own section of online

help.o No major user interface changes.

o MatchPoint 6.1 provides a very signigent enhancement to the MatchPoint product.

o We have introduced the inclusion of subversion into the model manager to help manage your group & your local models.

o MatchPoint will now automatically checkout from a subversion repository, and also update a subversion copy of the group model when you update your local group model.

o MatchPoint can also help backup your local models to a subversion repository. This provides a backup facility so that no local model work is lost if something happens to your workstation.

o Release in Q4 of 2017.

o MatchPoint 6.5 is the next planned release of MatchPoint.o Focus of this release is to make MatchPoint non IBM i specific.• Currently IBM i is required to run MatchPoint.• This release will remove this restriction and allow you to put the MatchPoint

database in SQL Server.o This allows MatchPoint to become available to Plex customers who do

not have an IBM i installation.o Other database platforms are also being considered.o Release date Q4 of 2017, or Q1 of 2018.

o MatchPoint is still an active and developed product.o Future plans include…

• A release 7.0 which will include a more web based MatchPoint product.§ The client based product will still be available, we are just giving our customers the ability to do more

MatchPoint activities in a web browser.o Other possible future ideas include…

• Support for more database platforms besides SQL.• The ability to checkout IBM i source code and promote code like PTC’s Implementer or Rocket’s LMi.• The ability to roll back code and objects like PTC’s Implementer or Rocket’s LMi.• The possibility exists to explore adding a 2E Import like the Plex Import process that MatchPoint already has.

o As always we welcome our customers to submit changes and enhancement requests as well. MatchPoint was largely built from customer requests, and we would like to see this continue.
