AGENDA

INTRODUCTION TO INSIGHT The Hogan Insight Series features Hogan’s trademark assessments: HPI, HDS, and MVPI

INSIGHT PRODUCT MIX Insight will be positioned under the Develop banner

INSIGHT BENEFITS Expanding Hogan’s Development Reach

§  The Insight Series is a feedback tool ideal for early career development with emerging leader populations.

§  It complements our current portfolio of global assessment solutions by offering the power of our assessments to mid-level managers.

§  Insight introduces strategic self-awareness at the main scale level, but also provides depth with subscale analysis* on the HPI and MVPI, as well as discussion points to facilitate feedback sessions.

§  Allows organizations to bring Hogan into the development process earlier with a user-friendly report format.

§  Insight is designed to be used with a certified coach or feedback provider.

§  Can be used for selection and development.

*HDS subscales to follow upon launch

Its clean design and clear approach to presenting Hogan’s rich information introduces new and emerging leaders to the concept of strategic self-awareness early in their career development process.

INSIGHT MARKETS AT MID-LEVEL New and Emerging Leaders

Individual Contributors The Insight Reports are an added benefit to Hogan’s current product mix because they provide a high-level summary of the participant’s results, along with discussion questions to facilitate conversations with one’s supervisor.

INSIGHT CONTENT AND STRUCTURE

Each report begins with scale definitions in table format, with descriptions of high and low scores.

INSIGHT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Executive Summary is a bulleted list of statements that describe the reputation this individual could create as a leader or team member.

Each report provides representation of percentile scores at four levels:

Low (0-25) Below Average (26-50) Above Average (51-75) High (76–100)

Note: The graph does not display the levels; it is only indicated in the paragraph proceeding.

INSIGHT SCORING

INSIGHT SUBSCALES: HPI & MVPI

Subscale scores are included for HPI and MVPI and provide more information for additional interpretation. *HPI Occupational Scales can be turned on or off at the client or group profile in HALO.

INSIGHT SUBSCALES: HDS

HDS subscales will be added upon release of the new HDS. At launch of the product (August 2013), subscales will not be included.

The report series provides Discussion Points for each scale. They are designed to initiate discussion or self-reflection. Sample discussion point: “How do you typically respond to feedback that others give you?”

INSIGHT DISCUSSION POINTS

•  What is the plan to replace the Interpret Series? As translations become available, we encourage you to

switch clients to the Insight Series. As you know, Hogan plans to phase out the Interpret Series. Hogan’s website will promote Insight exclusively.

•  What is the plan for translating the Insight Series? Translations will be considered after an initial launch period of three to six months.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

•  Is Insight for selection or development? Although Insight is primarily intended as a development tool, like the Interprets, it can also be used for selection. The HPI Occupational Scales are particularly helpful for selection.

•  Do the HPI Occupational Scales default to on or off? The Occupational Scales default to off. They can be turned on at the client or group profile in HALO.

•  What is the significance of 4 levels vs. 3 levels? Insight is written at 4 levels. As such, it provides clearer descriptions of individuals’ potential behavior.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

•  Why do we encourage coaching feedback with each report? The Insight Series includes the HDS and subscales, so we highly encourage feedback/ interpretation.

•  Why do we use subscale terminology versus HICS or Item Themes? For consistency and clarity, Hogan now uses the term “subscales” to discuss HICS, Item Themes, and the new HDS subscales.

•  If the wrong bundle is selected, will Hogan offer credits? No, Hogan will not produce the Flash Report for free if the bundle with Flash is not initially selected.
