The second row of numbers indicates the number of slides in section. The Highlighted number is the slide you are currently viewing.

This line represents the % of assessment complete. As questions are answered correctly at the end or each section, this will change to reflect your progress.

COMPLETING YOUR ASSESSMENT

It is important to read and understand the content of each section. Don’t cheat. The Responsible Service of Alcohol is a serious subject. It is you who will be working in the premises providing the responsible service of alcohol. You will be legally responsible for ensuring you comply with the laws and regulations that govern the service of alcohol. Staff can be fined by the Office of Liquor and Gaming for non-compliance.

Once you have completed reading each section, you must also complete the assessment questions that are attached before moving onto the next section.

The questions will assess your understanding of the information and your ability to apply this knowledge to different work situations.

Your competency will be assessed in a number of ways. These include:

Questions at the end of each section that require you to select the response that best answers the question (multiple choice)

Questions that require you respond by selecting True or False.

Questions that require you to respond by selecting all correct responses (multi response).

ATTEMPTING ASSESSMENT

For each assessment question you will be given four (4) opportunities to get the question correct. You are able

to review the course content while attempting the assessment.

For each question, read the question and the type of response required. Highlight your answers, and press

submit.

If you answer correctly, you will automatically move onto the next question. Your % complete will increase.

If you answer incorrectly, or are unsure of the answer, you are able to review the material. Simply click on “Click

here to review the course material for this question”. You will be taken to the section relevant to the question.

When you have finished reviewing the material, simply press the ”Go back to assessment” link on the top left

hand side of the slide.

Each time you get a question incorrect you will be notified, asking you to try again. You will be unable to progress

to the next question until the one you are working on is answered correctly.

If you get the answer wrong after the fourth opportunity then a lockout will occur. If you are locked out you may

still be able to progress to the next chapter’s course content and assessment. However, you will be unable to

finish the assessment and receive your certificate.

If you are having difficulty with any aspect of the course, you are able to contact [email protected] by email or ring

1300 783 757 during office ours and we will assist you. We will respond within 24 hours (mon-fri).

LOCKOUTS

Once a ‘lockout’ has occurred you will not be able to continue with this assessment until you are ‘unlocked’ by a

‘HIA’ assessor. You will be ‘unlocked’ within 48 hours (maximum) of being ‘locked’ out. Check your emails for

messages from your assessors regarding your assessment.

The assessor will review your assessment history and may contact you in relation to how you are progressing with

your training and to discuss any problems you may be having.

QUESTION RESET AFTER LOCKOUT

Once a question has been reset after a lock out, you will only get one attempt to get the answer correct before

being locked out again.

After you have been ‘unlocked’ the question that was incorrect will be reset and you will have one further

attempt. A lockout will occur with each unsuccessful attempt after this. If you have multiple lockouts on the same

assessment you may be asked to repeat that stage or stages.
