Introduction to
Linux and its Power
First Linux is released in October 5, 1991 by Linus Torvalds.
Linux is a Unix-like operating system that was designed to provide personal computer users a free or very low-cost operating system comparable to traditional and usually more expensive operating systems i.e. Microsoft Windows.Unlike Windows, Linux is publicly open and extendible by contributors.
What is Linux?

• Linux is fast and even more faster on latest machines.
• Linux is far more secure than Windows.
• It is free and stylish, where as Windows can cost you 150$ for one license.
• Linux provides solution for every type of computing.

iron systems such as mainframe computers and supercomputers.
• More than 90% of today's 500 fastest supercomputers run some variant of Linux, including the 10 fastest.
• Linux also runs on embedded systems (devices where the operating system is typically built into the firmware and highly tailored to the system) such as mobile phones, tablet computers, network routers, televisions and video game consoles.
The Android system, use on mobile devices is built on the Linux kernel.
There is a World-Wide Community of professionals which are always there to help every one voluntarily.In April 2010 Chris Kenyon, vice president for OEM at Canonical Ltd., estimated that there were 12 million Ubuntu users. Thousands of Ideas join everyday for the betterment of this world through linux
