Innovation process: This can be achieved either by the commercialization of the idea into a product or service that can be taken to market or by the institutionalization of an idea, like a method or process, that enables the company to achieve higher productivity and quality at lower total cost. 7. Types of Innovation Innovation has occurred when any aspect (e.g. capability, use) of a product, process or service provides an improved solution to a need. Incremental (increased) innovation involves small improvements and extensions to existing products, processes and services. Radical (disruptive) innovation involves major change.
