What is the Global Fund?

• A non-profit, public/private partnership that encourages cooperation between donors, recipient governments, businesses and individuals.

• Financing agent, not implementing body• Since 2001, the Global Fund has attracted $4.7

billion and committed funding to support 154 programs in 93 countries worldwide.

About the Proposal

The proposal must prove:

• Additionality (time-bound outputs & outcomes)

• Sustainability

• Feasibility

The Global Fund Does Not Fund:

• Basic science research and clinical research aimed at demonstrating the safety and efficacy of new drugs and vaccines; or

• Large scale capital investments such as building hospitals or clinics
