Definition of a Computer

A computer is an electronic machine, operating under the control of instructions stored in its own memory, that can do the following:

•Accept data

•Manipulate the data according to specified rules

•Produce results

•Store the results for future use

• Definition: application software is software that consists of programs that perform specific tasks

• Always read the side panel (or back) of the box that the software comes in to see if you have the necessary hardware, memory, and operating system to run the program.
