Why bother Build stage to engine bay and end user

• Cost 50 K addition to appliance Scania appliance $ 620,000

• CAFS components 15 – 20 K $ Engine builders approx same to fit out

• Engine builder issues

• Union: Industrial relation issues

• More maintenance required

Does it work, to good to be true

• Water works why change

• Traditionalists Water water and more water

Training

• Construct training team extra work load

• More SOP’s

• Where can you train

• Does CAF really work

Public

• Environmental issues concentrates many and varied

Why aren’t more people using

CAFS?

• CAFS is often misunderstood and expectations are beyond capability

• It’s expensive (up to $50,000)

• Change is hard: Water is in fire-fighters’ DNA

• People wonder, “Does it really work?”

• My comment - in regards to ARFF: Awareness, regulations, legislation and tradition?
