Relevance of Quranic Injunctions in the study of biology
•Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, evolution, distribution, identification and taxonomy. Modern biology is a vast field, composed of many branches and sub disciplines.
Branches of biology
- Molecular biology is a branch of science concerning biological activity at the molecular level. The field of molecular biology overlaps with biology and chemistry and in particular, genetics and biochemistry.
environmental science - the branch of biology concerned with the relations between organisms and their environment
Fresh water biology•It seeks to understand the relationships
between living organisms in freshwater (lakes, rivers etc) and their physical and chemical environment.
Marine biology is the study of marine organisms, their behaviors and interactions with the environment. Marine biologists study biological oceanography and the associated fields of chemical, physical, and geological oceanography to understand marine organisms.
Human biology
Human biology is an academic field of biology which focuses onhumans; it is closely related to medicine, primate biology, and a number of other fields. A human being is a multicellular eukaryote consisting of an estimated 100 trillion cells.
The study of the biological determinants of social behavior, based on the theory that suchbehavior is often genetically transmitted & subject to evolutionary processes.
