2. Workers’ health situation

a. Periodical health examination for workers

Increasing( x 1,7 times) with 2-3 million

people per year (14% of total workers

signed occupational contracts)

b. Common diseases of workers

Respiratory system, eyes, musculoskelal,

ears, skin

- Increase 3%

- Absence working day average decrease: 1,36

– 0,8 day/person/year

- reported 620.000 workers (3%): 500.000

working day lossed = losed 114,5 billon VND

d) Occupational mortality and morbidity

- Mortality average: 2000 cases/year

- Injuries average: 160.000 cases/year

Workers’ health situation i) Other factors

- Communicable diseases: H5N1, HIV/AIDS

- NCD: diabetes, hypertension

- Unsafe food at workplace due to the lack of

health workers

The number of food poisoning time increasing

more 21 times than last year 3.422 poisoning

cases (higher 17,6%) and 2.712 hospital

admitted cases (higher 14,8%). VIHEMA

1. OSH Law development in 2015; National progaram on

OSH until 2020;

2. Checking enterprises: 1200 enter./year; 30 health

facilities/year

3. Capacity building: Training courses on OD prevention, first aid at workplace

Postgraduate: PHD, Master of occupational health and OD

environment monitoring, worker’ health monitoring, OD, first aid…
