Dialogs on IT Policy
Invitations of IT Key Persons from Governments in Asian countries (in 2011) CICC invited IT-related key persons from governmental organizations in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam in October, 2011. They gave presentations on IT Utilization for Social Problems in their country, IT policy, e-
government, national IT projects etc. and shared information among participating countries including Japan.
On the Japanese side, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry gave a keynote speech on IT policy in Japan and IT Utilization in the Great East Japan Earthquake. Fujitsu gave a keynote speech on the Supercomputer which supports a safe, reliable and sustainable society. Hitachi and NEC introduced advanced approaches of IT utilization.

CICC invites to Japan key persons in computerization in Asian economies to exchange opinions regarding specific cooperation projects in computerization.
CICC co-organized “Asia Green IT Forum 2010” by inviting 11 economies in cooperation with the Green IT Promotion Council and Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) in October, 2010.

The purpose is to cooperate for implementation of Social and Public Information Systems which are proven in the Japanese market through discussion between Japan and the other Asian countries. CICC and Japanese vendors conducted a Feasibility Study of more than 30 systems in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam etc, as listed below.

Enlightenment of IT Usage and IT-related Information
Conduct on-site seminars on IT CICC organized the Joint Seminar on the “Introduction to IT Utilization for Economy-Society
Building with Safety Value” in February 2012 in cooperation with the following governments. - Indonesia: Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) -Vietnam: Vietnam National Institute of Software and Digital Content Industry (NISCI), Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) CICC speakers shared with the audience such information introducing three examples of how
information technology has been used to solve significant social issues in Japan, whose presentation titles are “Geographic Information System (GIS) for the Government Operation“, ”Introduction to Disaster Prevention Solution and Lessons learned from the Great East Japan Earthquake“ and “Surveillance Solutions for Infrastructural Facilities and Environment”.

CICC delivers a monthly newsletter related to IT trends and technology in Asia. CICC also issues annual country reports on IT trends and technology and a comparison report of IT trends as cross-sectional surveys in Asia. (Available only in Japanese)
“Tokyo Dayori” (Email magazine) is sent to former trainees and related persons outside of Japan on a bimonthly basis. The contents are the current status of informatics trends and technology in Japan written by CICC staff.
