Vol. 25, No. 3 2010 5

We would like to introduce the Distributed Generation and Alterna-tive Energy Journal—the DGAE Journal. Starting with volume 26, the new journal will replace the Cogeneration and Distributed Generation Journal, which has been published for many years under Steve Parker’s expert editorial guidance. Some of you will recall the original publication was the Cogeneration Journal, published under Bill Payne’s wise editorial pen. Thanks, Bill and Steve. We’ll follow your high editorial standards and track record. The new name will reflect the recent and significant shift of inter-est in distributed generation systems to alternative energy sources, in addition to traditional fuels such as oil or gas. Note cogeneration or combined heat and power (CHP) continues to be instrumental to this journal and we consider it a key part of distributed generation. The DGAE Journal will be a quarterly publication of the Associa-tion of Energy Engineers, Atlanta, GA. The journal will be published by Taylor & Francis, four (4) issues per year. We invite authors to submit originalmanuscriptsinvolving engineering design and analysis, opera-tion and maintenance, management, economics, strategy, and/or policy approaches to distributed generation, cogeneration, and combined heat and power. Now, in addition, we consider concepts, designs, projects, operation and maintenance experiences about distributed generation, and cogeneration systems that utilize alternative energy sources, renew-able and otherwise. Please note our emphasis is on on-site cogeneration, distributed generation, and alternative energy systems. By on-site we mean there is a new or existing site whose primary purpose may not necessarily be power generation, such as a factory, hospital, school, farm, landfill, hotel, etc. To offer our readers the best combination of applied energy re-search, latest technology applications, innovative approaches, and les-sons learned from people in the trenches, we will work in coordination
