Flag Fen Bronze Age archaeology park in Peterborough is home to a wooden causeway some 3500 years old that is so unique it is held by experts all over the world in the same esteem as Stonehenge
On a chilly November morning in 1982, an archaeologist (Francis Pryor) was walking a dyke to the east of Fengate, when he stumbled across a piece of oak lying in the mud that had been clearly worked with a small bladed axe. Further excavations, funded by English Heritage, revealed this find to be part of a timber platform the size of Wembley Stadium. This late Bronze Age, monumental structure is over 3300 years old. Currently only 10% of the site has been dug. This ancient site is less than 3 miles from the Peterborough Campus and our Archaeology and Landscape History BA Hons students acquire practical experience working on the ongoing excavation of the site.
Flag Fen, near Peterborough, is internationally acknowledged as one of the most important Bronze Age sites in the world.3Aerial view of our Campus

7Student WelfareOn the journey to outstanding
Student WelfareLiving and studying in a different country can be exciting and rewarding. However, there may be times during your stay when you need extra help and support. If problems do arise, whether academic, personal, or health-related, you can be certain that the help you need will be there. We place great emphasis on looking after students interests - we are not just here to teach, we are here to help in any way we can. The team of staff dedicated to student welfare is the largest of any comparable-sized institution in the country. Why? So students can concentrate on what they came for - to study, learn, gain qualifications and broaden their experience - without being distracted by other concerns. After all, a happy student is a successful student!8On the journey to outstanding

Commission will be processed within 3 weeks of the student enrolment and payment of fees in full. If a students visa is refused we will retain a 150 administration fee but refund the balance. We will need to see a copy of the refusal notice. We will not make a refund if the visa is refused on the grounds of fraudulent documents. If a student starts a course and then decides to leave there will be no refund unless there are exceptional circumstances eg compassionate grounds18Celebrating their SuccessThese students have completed 2 year pre-university programmes in IT and Electrical Engineering
Three of our IT students were honoured by the UAE government. They achieved the highest marks in their qualification out of all of the UAE students who studied in the UK last year (2012).These UAE Government Sponsored students are part of a larger group who are celebrating their success at a farewell party at the college. You can see one of the Electrical Engineering tutors at the front of the group. Their personal tutor is at the back wearing the traditional dish dash that the students provided him for the party. We think it suits him! Many of these students first came to our college to study full-time English before they started their main programmes.
In September 2012 we welcomed two further groups of government sponsored students to study on our Electrical and Electronic Engineering programmes. One group are studying our pre-University programme (BTEC Diploma) and the other group are studying our level 5 HND programme.

Degree Award ceremony at Peterborough CathedralAwards Ceremony for pre university studentsThe award ceremony for the UCP degree students takes place in Peterboroughs historic Norman Cathedral (the original burial place of 2 former Queens - Katherine of Aragon and Mary Queen of Scots ). Each student invites a family member to the ceremony. There are usually about 800 people at the event and Hospitality and Catering students from Peterborough Regional College prepare the food and refreshments.20PRC Admissions ProcessWe will need the following to start the process
A completed international application formA copy of the students passport to include photo page and any visa stampsEvidence of their English language ability (UKBA approved SELT)Copies of educational certificates
On the journey to outstanding
Interview If the student meets the entry requirements they will be interviewed using Skype. This will also give them an opportunity to ask questions about the course. They should do some research about their chosen course using our website i.e. Units/Modules to be studied. This will show the tutor that they are serious about studying here.
Bank Account - It would be advisable that at this stage the student opens a bank account in their own name. This eliminates the need to provide translated Birth Certificates and letters from parents.
Deposit - If PRC offer a place we will also ask for a deposit (usually approximately 3000)
Certificate of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) - We will ask to see evidence of funds before a CAS is issued (scan of bank statement). Many students are confused by the UK Border Agency requirements for evidence of funds so this is usually welcomed by the student.
