• Whether our customers have a time constraint, lack of resources or expertise, or another challenge, we have the solution.

• Ethernet Access Challenges• Low Unit Cost of equipment vs. high depot & logistics costs• Multiple boxes & physical configurations (XFP, SFP etc.)• Individual unit configuration required (management address

etc.) before the device can be configured by the customer’s own management system

• Installation costs• OPEX spend for provisioning efforts• Time - every hour the system is not in production is

unrecognized revenue• Sparing and/or spares management

• Deliverables of the option “Baseline Configuration” • Baseline configurations are loaded onto the network elements by

ADVA Optical Networking as part of the staging process. They include: • Temporary UserID and Password for initial NOC/Central Office access • Ethernet WAN Interface Configuration • Generic SNMP Parameters (community string and trap receiver host

address) • Management VLAN Tunnel configuration (WAN port)1 • Any common parameters as agreed between the customer and ADVA

Optical Networking

• Benefit: • The option “baseline configuration” reduces the overall on site effort

of skilled personnel and ensures a consistent configuration.

• Deliverables of the option “Location Specific Configuration” • Location Specific Configuration Information is loaded onto the network

element by ADVA Optical Networking as part of the staging process this includes:

• Management IP Address and Subnet Mask • Static Route information for management interface • RFC1213 – SYSNAME and SYSLOCATION • Management VLAN Tunnel configuration (WAN port)

• Benefit: • The option “Location Specific Configuration” reduces on site effort of

skilled personnel and ensures consistent configuration as well as immediate access to the network element by NOC personnel.
