Introducing a Revolutionary New Composite Tube Structure Technology...
What is IsoGrid Technology?
• A Flexible new Design & Processing Technology that permita variety of new product executions to be made.
• The Technology was developed to bring new Performance levels to ultra-light composite tubular based structures.
• Protected by an Array of Existing and/or Pending Patents.
• Available Exclusively through VYATEK SPORTS, INC.
What are the Technical Advantages of IsoGrid Technology?
• IsoGrid Technology is designed to enhance the structural integrity of thin-wall structures prone to Buckling related failure modes.
• The Array of Integral Monolithic Raised Ribs can be Optimized by using a variety of different Materials, Dimensions and/or Orientations.
• The Materials in the Outer Shell region can also be Optimized by using different engineering materials, shapes and sizes.
AR = 3.0 in2 AI = 0.67 in2 (-78%)
IC = 2.25 in4 ICI = 0.95 in4 (-58%)
IC/AR = .75 in2 ICI/AI = 1.41 in2 (+88%)
Because designers can put material Where they need it...and Remove it from where they don’t!
Why are “I” Beams more Efficient (stiffness/weight) than rectangular beams?
Introducing a Revolutionary New Composite Tube Technology:
IsoGrid Technology enhances “Tube” Beam performance like an I-Beam does!
At = 0.283 in2 Ai* = 0.178 in2 (-37%)
Ic = 0.029 in4 Ic* = 0.020 in4 (-31%)
Ip = 0.058 in4 Ip* = 0.040 in4 (-31%)
Ic/At = 0.10 in2 Ic*/Ai* = 0.11 in2 (+10%)
Ip/At = 0.20 in2 Ip*/Ai* = 0.22 in2 (+10%)
This Technology is possible due to Advances in Composite Processing Science!
Introducing a Revolutionary New Composite Tube Technology:
3-Point bend test of non IsoGrid ultra-light shaft design 3-Point bend test of IsoGrid reinforced ultra-light shaft design
Notes:1. Both tests done under identical load/support conditions.2. Shaft designs vary only by the addition of IsoGrid reinforcement ( approximately 4 gms).3. IsoGrid design was slightly stiffer and therefore deflection at identical load was slightly lower.
