Routes: Add, Save, and Share!

Each ride result, after logged in, provides an “Add Ride”, “Save Route”, “Share Ride”, and “Driver Profile” buttons.

Add Ride adds the ride to the ride list, allows communication with the Driver, and asks for feedback after the ride has been accepted by the Driver and has been taken.

Save Route saves a route for future information and alerts the rider when a new Ride becomes available on that route.

Ride Repetition

Ÿ Upon completing a ride, the Rider and Driver may continue the same ride.

Ÿ If both accept, the ride allows for repetition on a weekly or monthly basis.

Ÿ Repetition takes into account repetition on days of the week and time intervals.

Ÿ Ride Repetition allows for a Rider and Driver to minimize feedback to once a week or once a month instead of once per each ride.

Route Handling

• Utilizes Google's Maps engine• Provides several benefits over just map data:

1. familiar look-and-feel2. less load on servers (overhead = money)3. trivial to expand to new locations4. lots of nifty features

Let's talk about the features...

Why a Ride Verification System?

• If you’re a rider, you don’t want to ride with an unsafe driver

• If you’re a driver you don’t want to pick up a rider that’s going to make you late

• What’s the solution?

Feedback

•Publicly display feedback so users are warned of other users who they may want to ride with•Add feedback information to reporting for employers to see how their compensated drivers are performing•Require feedback for each ride, so each ride is documented

Page 26: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

How it works

•After a ride is completed (the scheduled ride time has elapsed) an email is sent to both parties requesting feedback•The feedback can be completed through email•If a driver or rider logs in without completing feedback, the system will inform them that they have required feedback to leave and they will be unable to schedule more rides until this is completed

Page 27: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

Leaving Feedback

•For both riders and drivers there are similar feedback questions consisting of four levels•Only level one is required, each level gets more and more detailed•Includes a simple yes/no, a rating out of 5, leading questions, and an open text box

Page 28: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

Customization

• Initial Site Setup– Enter pertinent information– Establish locale– Set options– Create constraints / limitations

Page 29: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

Management

• Reports • User Management

– Approval– Background check– Driver certification– Dismissal

• Site Content– News– Advertisements– Community Links / Message Boards

Management Module

Page 31: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

Why it’s needed

• Provides appropriate information to different types of users.

• Allows customization of the system

• Contains tools to integrate.

• Provides security.

• Allows communication between users.

Page 32: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

Information? What information?

• This system will store all information in a central location – drivers, riders, corporate sponsors, and administrative users.

• Management has the ability to edit any information in this system.

• Using information stored in the system will be used to build metrics which help monitor efficiency of the system.

Page 33: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

How can it customize?

• This system doesn’t have to be limited to it’s initial setting.

• It can be setup to be in any region.• It’s locale can be of any size and shape.• Driver and Rider qualifications don’t have to

be fixed.• Each question of the rating system can have

different weights that factor into a “score.”

Page 34: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

How is integration going to work?

• Integration

Page 35: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

Why security is a management

issue?

• What’s the use of managing a system without security?

• Each user is required to have a password.

• Not all users will have the same functionality.

• Confidential information should not be known to everyone.

Page 36: Intro & Vision Introduction Limit traffic Reduces emissions Prime the pump for conservation Spread resources Reduce stress –Drive less –Have company –Reduce

Who needs to communicate?

• Corporate sponsors may want to advertise.

• They have access to query e-mail addresses through the system.

• They may also have banners allocated on web pages to show riders and drivers.
