applies the principles of physics and

It is the branch of engineering that
involves the production and
usage of heat and mechanical power
for the design, production, and
operation of machines and
tools.
It is one of the oldest
and broadest
engineering
disciplines.

China’s History of Engineering
Time
• For over 2,000 years Chinese society was pre-eminent in technological development. Chinese philosophers made significant advances in science, mathematics, and astronomy.
Fields
• Its technology began with agricultural, textile, and war machines; it was enhanced with hydraulic machines; and it was completed with the ingenious clocks and automatons
Engineers
• China is also famous for its Four Great Inventions. Chinese history of engineering contains some great engineers like Zhang Heng, Ma Jun, Ge Hong, and many more. Most of the great inventions were made in the time of Tang Dynasty.
