Kruger Express - Camping
Vic Falls to Cape Town
iTiNERARY... Day 1 Johannesburg/Kruger National Park
Depart the urban wilds of Johannesburg and discover the vast
plains of the Kruger National Park where the Big Five roam. The
park is home to 150 species of mammals, including cheetahs, lions,
zebras and aardvarks. The staggering amount of bird species, plus
the wide variety of insects and reptiles make this the ultimate
wildlife experience. Jump on board an open safari vehicle to
explore the park in search of iconic animals. At night, head out
once more for a sunset safari drive and keep eyes peeled for night
predators and other nocturnal animals. Day 2 Kruger National
Park Depart at first light for an entire day’s game viewing. With
luck there’ll be close encounters with lions, elephants and even a
giraffe or two. Settle for the evening in a centrally located campsite
and swap tales around the campfire. Day 3 Greater Kruger
National Park Enjoy another full day of game-viewing in Kruger
before travelling to a private reserve in the late afternoon. In the
evening, settle into a lodge and enjoy a drink and a tasty traditional
dinner. Day 4 Greater Kruger National Park/Johannesburg
Complete the safari experience with an early morning nature walk.
Explore the wilderness one last time with a field guide and learn
how to track wild animals. Sadly, it’s then time to bid the African
wilderness farewell. Travel along the Drakensberg Escarpment
and see the spectacular Three Rondavels while overlooking the
awesome Blyde River Canyon. Continue on to Johannesburg where
this short but thrilling adventure ends.

Park Depart the heart and soul of modern South Africa early in
the morning to start the safari adventure of a lifetime. Arrive in the
Greater Kruger area just in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon
on dramatic game drives in open 4x4 vehicles through a private
game reserve. There’s plenty to see here so keep an eye out for
Africa’s Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffaloes.
Afterwards, return to a comfortable lodge on the park’s outskirts
and relive stories of close encounters over a traditional South
African meal around a log fire. Day 2 Kruger National Park Head
out on a thrilling safari through African grasslands. Seek out lions
lazing under shady bushes, search for elephant herds and spy the
plethora of colourful birdlife darting through the trees. Afterwards,
spend the evening relaxing at the lodge with a refreshing
sundowner in hand. Day 3 Greater Kruger National Park Head
out on more game drives or settle in at the lodge to rest. In the late
afternoon, embark on an exciting sunset game drive to see another
side of the African wildnerness as nocturnal creatures venture into
the open, ready for a night of hunting. Day 4 Johannesburg
Begin the day by rising early for a morning nature walk with a
knowledgeable local guide, who will help to identify bird and plant
species. Enjoy a tasty breakfast back at the lodge, then embark on
a scenic drive back to the bright lights of Johannesburg, stopping
for spectacular views over the gigantic Blyde River Canyon and the
awesome Three Rondavels along the way.
iTiNERARY... Day 1 Johannesburg/Morija Leave the busy
streets, skyscrapers and throngs of people in Johannesburg and
journey to Morija in the mystical mountain Kingdom of Lesotho.
Known for its beautiful landscapes, traditional villages, remote
hiking trails and cooler climate, this tiny landlocked country has
a population of about two million people. Upon arrival, wander
around this small town or try a longer walk through pristine
forests. Day 2 ha Sehlaha Rise early in the morning and embark
on a full day of hiking to arrive at a small village homestay. Hike
through lush green terrain, past stunning mountain ranges and
simple African huts with thatched roofs. Be welcomed with friendly
smiles and a traditional meal prepared by our happy hosts from
home-grown produce. Enjoy the simple pleasure of dining by
candlelight and the warm hospitality of the generous host family.
Exchange stories, learn about the culture and customs of rural
Lesotho and share many laughs with the group. Day 3 Morija
Bid farewell to new local friends and hike back to Morija to explore
the museum and town archives to learn about the history of the
town. In the evening, experience energetic African rhythms at a
stirring traditional dance performance while watching an amber
sunset over the mountain ranges. Day 4 Johannesburg Farewell
the friendly people of Morija and leave the wonder of Lesotho to
journey back to Johannesburg. If time permits, why not stay a few
days longer to explore the unique township of Soweto and the
historic landmarks of this bustling city?

iTiNERARY... Day 1 Livingstone/Victoria Falls Africa’s
adrenaline capital, Livingstone is the perfect place to kick off
the adventure. Head to the mighty Victoria Falls and admire the
columns of spray from this curtain of falling water. Knife Edge
Bridge and the forests immediately opposite the falls on the
Zambian side provide unparalleled views. There are plenty of
optional activities on offer as well. Why not inspect the falls from
another angle with an exhilarating helicopter flight or perhaps
get the pulse racing with some bungee jumping, canyoning or
abseiling? Days 2-3 Chobe National Park Travel by car and
ferry to reach the Chobe National Park. Nestled in the northern
corner of Botswana amid lush forest, Chobe is home to some of
the largest elephant populations on the continent as well as lions
and a flurry of bird life, including the famous African fish eagle.
Cruise the Chobe River in the late afternoon to enjoy a golden
sunset. Glimpse hippos ambling along the banks and other animals
taking a drink along the shore. In the evening, relax with a tasty
dinner and retire to the comfort of a safari lodge. Day 4 Victoria
Falls/Livingstone Journey back to Livingstone and take the
opportunity to visit the Livingstone Museum to learn more about
this dauntless Scottish explorer who was lost for six years before
Henry Morton Stanley finally found him, greeting him with the
famous words, “Dr Livingstone, I presume?” Still seeking some
adrenaline-inspired action? Be sure to head back to powerful
Victoria Falls for more adventure sports and exploration.
iTiNERARY... Day 1 Livingstone/Victoria Falls Spectacular
Victoria Falls is a breathtaking sight. See the torrents of cascading
water, hear the rumbling roar and feel the raw power - this natural
wonder is a treat for all the senses. Why not take an optional
flight to view the falls from a different perspective or hit the
waters on a speed boat? The surrounding basalt cliffs are covered
in lush forests where a first glimpse of big game may be had.
Adventure sports are also popular here, so take the chance to
get the adrenaline pumping with a spot of canyoning, abseiling
or bungee jumping in one of the most thrilling environments in
the world. Days 2-3 Chobe National Park Cross into bountiful
Botswana where thousands of elephants share the Chobe National
Park with wildebeest, giraffes and other iconic African animals.
A slow morning cruise along the winding blue-green waters of
the Chobe River provides an excellent opportunity to look out
for slow-moving hippos and graceful fish eagles. Over two days,
enjoy riveting game drives through the grasslands, passing watery
marshes that are home to an abundance of exotic wildlife. An
informative local guide will help to point out and identify animal
and plant species. In the evening, experience the haunting sounds
of the savanna before drifting off to sleep in a comfortable bush
camp. Day 4 Victoria Falls/Livingstone The adventure ends
among the historic, tin-roofed Victorian houses in Livingstone.
Choose to stay for an extra few days to explore the area a little
more or try more thrilling adventure sports or scenic hikes.
