Internship Program Overview

The Genesis Leadership Experience is a leadership immersion experience for those desiring to serve on staff in a missional church and learn skills, character and theological training from the staff of Genesis Church. The program is designed to give participants ministry experience, as well as a glimpse into the life of people in ministry while working alongside Genesis staff members.

Application Process

Qualifications:

• High school Juniors through College Students• Exemplify and live a Christ like life• Fully support the vision and values of Genesis Church

All interested participants will be required to submit the Internship Application along with a resume and photo.

Applicants are selected on a case by case basis subject to need. After the interview process, applicants will be notified if they have been chosen for the internship program. Once chosen and accepted, the applicant must raise financial support, like most missionaries, before becoming a part of the Genesis Leadership Experience. The amount raised is determined by the Internship Level.

Internship Levels

Level 1:

Junior or Senior High School Student 12 - 15 hours per week Join a Weekend Volunteer Team Join a Genesis Group $100 per week stipend, of which 50% is participant raised

Level 2:

College Freshman or Sophomore 20 - 25 hours per week Join a Weekend Volunteer Team Lead a Genesis Group $200 per week stipend, of which 50% is participant raised

Hopeful Next Steps for Interns

• Move into other leadership positions within Genesis Church (team leader, etc)• Enter into a next level of study (college, seminary, etc)• Raise support and continue on as support funded staff• Get hired on as paid staff• Help launch another Genesis Campus or plant a church through our national network• Become a disciple maker in the workplace

FAQ’s

Do Interns work on weekends? All Interns will be a member of a campus volunteer team serving at a Worship Experience on Saturday and/or Sunday. The ministry leader will determine the role for each Intern position.

Is the Internship paid?

Yes. Interns are paid a weekly stipend depending on the level they choose to partake. Level 1 Interns are paid $100 per week. Level 2 Interns are paid $200 per week. Both levels do require 50% of funds to be raised before becoming a Genesis Intern. College students earning college credit through the Genesis Leadership Experience will follow the guidelines set forth by the college or university in regards to compensation.

How can I get college credit?

If your college or university offers Internship opportunities, we will work directly with your counselors and/or professors to ensure you meet all the necessary requirements.

Will Genesis help Interns with housing? Genesis currently does not have housing available for Interns. However we do have connections with local hotels to provide long term stays.

Are international applicants eligible?

Yes. Other documentation may be needed should you choose to apply, i.e. work visa, passport.

Do I need a car?

Most likely. The majority of responsibilities of our Interns require them to have a reliable form of transportation. This ranges from daily job responsibilities to being able to get to and from work.
