The older a person is, the less he or she uses Internet for daily life.

Hypothesis

The survey is created by five statements to test the hypothesis.

1. Finding information on the Internet is easier than the library.

2. Reading news on Internet is faster than newspapers and magazines.

3. Online shopping is better than going to shopping malls.

4. Having account on social networking websites such as facebook and MySpace is essential to keep in touch with friends.

5. It is necessary to have Internet access on cell phone.

The numerical values for different attitudes toward the statements are as below:

The survey is been administered in a birthday party.

Most of the participants are the students of Oklahoma State University from Iran, USA, Brazil, and India.

There are three generations to study. 19 - 2526 – 3233 and up

Most of the females participants prefer shopping malls rather than online shopping and most of the male participants prefer online shopping.

The first and third generations by average chose neutral attitude and the second generation by average are agree that online shopping is better than shopping malls.

After analyzing the result, now we can say that the hypothesis is correct. It is interesting that even though older generations use Internet less than younger generations, but their average opinion on statements are mostly on agree and neutral attitudes. It shows that the older generations are accepting the need of Internet in daily life.
