Blocked Sites vs Filtered Sites
Blocked sites
● Student sees
blocked site screen
Filtered Sites
● Content may be
viewable
● Alert sent to school
Why allow some filtered sites?
● Some content may trigger the filters, but is educationally
relevant.○ Holocaust (5th)
○ Reproductive System (7th)
○ Asexual and Sexual Reproduction (7th)
● Hackers and scammers are working against the filters
and blocks faster than we can block.○ How to search for unblocked games
● We rely on a human to check all alerts and notifications.
● Real time and historical monitoring
● Shows students’ digital footprint down to each keystroke
● GoGuardian notifies administrators based on filtered
parameters including self-harm, harm to others,
inappropriate content, weapons, and attempts to bypass
security measures
● Can also be used to substantiate academic dishonesty &
cyberbullying
Why are unblocked games a big deal?
