hints> Write each pieces name on the

    back of the piece.

    > Before you begin cutting, glancethrough the instructions.

    > Keep referring to the picture ofthe nished ISS.

cut out and buildea piee> Use scissors to cut out each

piece following the inside of theyellow line.

    > Fold the tabs in along the dottedlines with colour facing out (exceptfor the solar panels where the tabsare folded out to make a T shape).

Modules> There are four modules: the JLM,

Columbus, KIBO and the main bodymodule. They are cylinders and areall built the same way. Roll eachpiece to make a tube and join theedges together with glue on the longtabs. (Tip: use your pencil in the tubeto offer some support when gluing.)

    > Then, glue the circles at both endsto the small triangle tabs to closethe tube.

Truss sections> There are three truss sections:

right truss, left truss and Z1.They are box-like.

    > Z1 is a cube. Glue the tabs tocreate the cube.

    > Glue the tabs on each long trusssection to create two rectangularboxes.

Small solar panels> There are four pieces that make

    up the small solar panels.

    > Glue a blue piece to an orange pieceback-to-back, so that they lineup and the colour appears on theoutside. Dont glue the grey tabstogether. Repeat for the other pair.

Cross solar panel> Glue the cross-shaped shaped

solar panel pieces together back-to-back, so that they line up andthe colour appears on the outside.

Radiator panels> The radiator panels need to

be folded so that they end upappearing zigzag in formation.Fold on the orange and black

dotted lines. Fold the sectionmarked in rst so that thecoloured sides are together.

Large solar panels> Fold these in the middle (on the

grey line) and glue together. Dontglue the grey tabs together. Onlyadd glue to the very edges of thepanels; extra glue will make thesolar panels too heavy.

Shuttle docking port> Roll the piece into a cone shape.

    > Add glue to the cross-hatched tabto join the cone together.

    > Tabs with a P will be used later.

The airlock> The airlock will be attached to the

    ISS as is.

    Construct the

ISS by gluing thepieces together1. Glue the Columbus module to

the main body module. Match theC on Columbus to the C on themain body module and glue themtogether.

    2. Glue the KIBO module to themain body module. Match andglue the K on KIBO to the K on

    the main body module.

    3. Glue the JLM module to the KIBOmodule, matching the J s in thesame way.

    4. Glue on the shuttle docking portby matching the P s on the tabswith the P on the main bodymodule.

    5. Glue the truss piece, Z1, to themain body module by matchingthe Z s.

    6. Glue the blue side of the cross-shaped solar panel to the end ofthe main module where it says, glue cross solar panel here.

    7. Glue the two small solar panelsto the main module by matchingthe symbols on top of eachother.

    8. Now join the left truss and righttruss together. Glue the red andwhite squares labelled E to makeone long truss. Make sure thatyou line up the colours: red withred, white with white.

    9. Glue four large solar panels oneach end of the truss by matchingup the symbols on top of eachother.

    10. Glue the zigzag radiator panelson. Match the on each radiatorpanel to the on each side ofthe truss.

    11. The truss attaches across the topof the main body module. Gluethe F on the top of the module tothe F on the bottom of the trussand the T on the truss to the T on the Z1 module.

    12. Glue the blank side of the airlock

to the on the main bodymodule. Line up the symbols.

    13. You can now hang up your ISSusing thread.
