We are very happy that you are here!

To welcome you at HAW Hamburg we have prepared a welcoming programme. With it we want to help you settle in, find friends, discover our lovely city and pre-pare for your studies at HAW Hamburg. We hope you enjoy it!

Some days of the programme might be busier than others. Use the free time in the Welcome Week wisely! Here are some things we recommend you to do before the lectures start:

• Register your address (obligatory for everyone).• Open a German bank account (if you need one).• Apply for a residence permit (if you need one).• Explore your neighbourhood and find all of the

useful shops.• Do something fun with your Buddy.

Explore HamburgWe are very proud of our city. So we want to use both Saturdays of the Welcome Week to present you its history and beauty. The number of participants for each of the events below is limited so you need to register. The tours take about 1,5 hours.

DeutschIn this two week intensive course will learn the basics to help you communicate in everyday life. The spots in the courses are limited, so it will be „first come first serve“.
