Birth Anniversary of . The Indian Chemical Society, our national pride and one of the oldest learned bodies of our country was established on May 09, 1924 with Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray as its Founder President. Acharya Ray, after returning from abroad (Edinburgh) first joined the teaching faculty of the Presidency College, Kolkata in 1889 and later in 1916, he joined the Department of Chemistry, University of Calcutta as the Palit Professor of Chemistry. Acharya Ray was intimately associated with the Indian Chemical Society till the last day of his life. With his active guidance, many of his illustrious disciples and their students have placed the Indian Chemical Society as one of the most vibrant learned bodies of our Country. Besides being a great philanthropist, Acharya Ray was also a life-long campaigner in promoting industries in our country and was the founder of Bengal Chemical and Pharmaceutical Works Ltd.

Anniversary of our revered Acharya, the Society has decided to organize the aforesaid Symposium in a much greater dimension as a mark of its humble tribute to Acharya Ray. The present Symposium is the fourteenth in the series, the first one was held in 2006.

A session for Industry-Academia interaction has also been included in the programme.

A soft copy of Abstract (200-250 words without diagram and table) along with the duly filled in Form-A should reach the Convener of the Symposium within July 20, 2019 to indi3478@dataone.in.

These papers may be presented by any one of the contributing authors. For young chemists aged not more than 30 years on July 31, 2019, there are three special prizes, if such papers are presented by them and adjudicated for such prizes. They are requested to submit necessary document in support of their age along with the abstract.

For Award Paper Presentation more than two papers from the same Laboratory and more than one paper from the same author will not be considered.
