Edge Hill's home is Ormskirk, a beautiful and friendly 12th century market town 25minutes from the city centre of Liverpool and 40 minutes from Manchester - welllocated for students to take full advantage of all that the UK has to offer and withtwo international airports on our doorstep you can easily get to many Europeandestinations in a couple of hours.

The region provides opportunities for a wide range of culture and leisure pursuits:live music, theatre, sports, dance, walking, the arts, and shopping. Visit the beautifulhillside villages in the Lake District, the friendly towns along the Irish Sea, and thetraditional seaside villages in North Wales.

We have been welcoming international students to our university for many yearsespecially during the months of July and August when we offer a range of summerprogrammes which give you the opportunity to both learn and experience the cultureand history of the UK.

See the bustling cities rich in history and culture.Travel the beautiful green countryside and visit medieval towns, castles, lakes andhistorical sites while experiencing the cultural diversity England offers.

About us

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER PROGRAMMES AT EDGE HILL UNIVERSITY

You will be accommodated in a single ensuite room in one of our high quality studentresidences on campus. In blocks of six/eight rooms, each with TV and WIFI, you will haveaccess to a fully fitted kitchen and all cooking utensils.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided day, with packed lunches provided for full dayexcursions. Evening meals can be arranged at a subsidised additional cost.

Your classes will take place each day and will be a combination of workshops, seminarsboth in and out of the classroom, this will help you develop your English language abilityin a varied environment and amongst native English speakers. There will be a total of 20hours English Language delivery per week.

During the 4 week course you will be able to take part in a range of social activities bothon campus and off. We start each course with a Welcome Event where you will enjoygetting to know your fellow students and the teaching and support team who will be withyou throughout the course.

Each week different activities are available for you to take part in during the evening suchas quizzes, cinema trips, bowling. Each weekend a full day excursion is offered, alongwith 1 half day trips each week to various historical and cultural places of interest, forexample the magnificent castle of Conwy in Wales or the Jorvik Viking Centre in York. Youwill also be spending 2 nights in London where you can see all the sights such as Big Ben,the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace and experience our beautiful capitalcity.

We have campus support staff on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to offer you helpand support should you need it.

At the end of your course we will hold a celebration event when you will be presented withyour certificate of attendance. This is our chance to say farewell to you, and to wish youwell for the future.
