    WEM PEOPLE LANDOWNERS

Were committed to being a good neighbour.

From farmlands and forests to cities and towns, our pipelines transport energy to people across the continent to help fuel their lives. Its our responsibility to ensure that energy is transported safely, so that we can protect the environment and the people who live and work near our operations. Its why over the past decade weve invested more than $3 billion in safety, integrity and new technology. We continually evaluate the condition of our pipeline system to ensure long-term reliability and integrity. Its what is expected of us, and what we expect of ourselves.

Together with the International Pipeline Conference, the International Pipeline Exposition (IPE) has become one of the most important events for the global pipeline industry. As a platform to gather thousands of pipeline professionals from 30 countries, the conference and exhibition allows the industry to gather together to share insights, discuss the challenges, and source solutions to the issues facing the pipeline sector.

Recently, pipelines have become a major topic of the media, government, and in our communities. The challenges that the industry faces with respect to pipeline integrity, security, maintenance, detection, inspection and corrosion control are just a few of the issues surrounding the industry that require immediate attention. The International Pipeline Conference and IPE offers a backdrop to connect the global industry every two years to get up close and personal with the technology, innovations and key developments on the horizon for the pipeline sector.

Whether you have travelled from abroad and beyond, or based locally, we hope that you will make the most of your time during this week in Calgary - we trust that you will find the networking, educational opportunities and discussions helpful. We invite you to take part in our Industry Reception on Tuesday, September 25 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, which will connect you with the companies and people that are at the forefront of innovation in the industry enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages courtesy of our sponsors.

We are delighted to have incredible partners who put so much time into developing the world-class International Pipeline Conference. Special thanks to the many volunteers and staff who come together from the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Thank you also to IPEs dedicated sponsors, exhibitors and attendees from around the world we hope you will source new opportunities, discover new connections, and create lasting business relationships.

Our pipeline precommissioning services correctly prepares pipelines before going into service, providing years of trouble-free operation. Cleaning and drying new pipelines reduces erosion, improves efficiency, maximizes throughput, and prevents hydrates from forming. Baker Hughes can also add proprietary environmentally safe chemicals to control corrosion and protect assets, allowing operators to reduce costs and meet deadlines. In addition, our ability to validate the line integrity by hydrotesting to a variety of pipeline codes allows operators to meet regulatory obligations.

Baker Hughes uses mechanical, chemical, or gel technology, depending on specifications, to clean natural gas and petrochemical pipelines to further mitigate against long-term corrosion. By reducing drying time, operators can get into production quickly using air, vacuum, nitrogen, or chemical swabbing.

With 25 years of experience, Baker Hughess in-line inspection (ILI) tools meet integrity program objectives, whether the pipeline is onshore or offshore, or if it transports liquid gas. Our ILI tools identify threats, such as third-party pipeline damage, metal loss from pipeline corrosion, and pipeline mechanical damage. Multiple product lines help maximize pipeline throughput in less downtime. Speed control tools optimize product throughput, inertial measurement units locate pipeline anomalies and bending strain solutions, triaxial technology detects metal loss, and adaptable tools allow for difficult-to-inspect pipelines.

Whether a new system is going online or an existing system needs maintenance, our extensive range of worldwide services helps operators meet pipeline safety regulations. We offer technology to remove deposits, including wax, liquids, black powder, rust, and mill scale to improve efficiency without going offline. If a system needs to be taken out of operation, Baker Hughes can remove the product safely by purging it with nitrogen, leaving the pipeline in an environmentally safe condition.

Inspecting pipelines using a wide range of innovative technologies allows operators to meet regulatory obligations.

Baker Hughes meets the demands of the worlds most challenging precommissioning projects with the industrys most efficient compression spreads.
