IMS Newsletters and IMS interactive Quiz: On monthly basis all IMS activities at National level and
work done by the IMS societies is uploaded in the form of IMS Newsletter. IMS Quiz in which the IMS
members participate is a online Quiz and three winners are declared every month and their names
are displayed on the website for one month period. Dr Shobhana Mohandas is the co-Ordinator for
IMS interactive Quiz.
In addition, all data of 2018 is saved in Yearly Version Control on Webpage, Contact Us details
updated and all queries sent on mail are answered within 24 hours.
Website Proposal work: A proposal to start Bulk Email from website portal to all IMS members is in
process and will await GCM Approval.

Guidelines for Rural Health Check-up camp and data form was circulated
1. Selection of Venue – Collaboration with Local Club, Sarpanch or Primary Health Center.
2. No of patient - Preferably not more than 100.
3. Criteria of patients – 40+ women ( Pre, Peri & Post-menopausal women).
4. Things to be examined – 1. Weight, B.P, Waist, Circumference, Breast exam must be done. 2.
BMD,Hb%, TSH, RBS, Lipid Profile, Anaemia, Cervical Pap Smear if possible.
5. Cost - Transport & Medicine by the local IMS. Food & infrastructure by the organizer
(preferably).
6. Follow Up – Arrangement of sending investigation reports to the patients with remarks &
possible line of treatment.
7. Mementos – Small Mementos to the patients ( sponsored if possible).
8. President / Secretary and minimum 2 committee members will be attend.
9. May involve doctors from other faculties.
10. At least 2 camps by each chapter in a functional year.
11. Report in 12 sentences with 2 Pics - should reach Dr. K. D. Bakshi - [email protected]

IMS Project One- Standardization of Healthcare of Postmenopausal Women in India
The Project which was initiated by me as the Principal Investigation through the IMS Foundation
entitled “Standardization of Healthcare of Postmenopausal Women in India” took off in its last
phase on 5th July, 2019.
We signed an MOU with the Government of Maharashtra to conduct a pilot study of 400 women
above the age of 45 years upto 60 years in Latur in May 2019. The first program of “Training of
Trainers” (TOT) was held in Latur on 5th July 2019, when I was accompanied by my collegues Dr.
Rashmi Shah & Dr. Jyothi Unni, members of the IMS Foundation Committee to train the
Representatives Asha Workers, Nurses and Doctors of the District Government of Latur. There was a
small Inauguration which was attended by 60 ……. members which included Obgyn’s, Medical
officers, District health officers and ASHA coordinators, 6 ANM’s and 40 ASHA’s.
All officials especially the CEO, Dr. Itankar impressed upon all the Trainers that it was important to
participate in this Pilot Project and know its results so that peri and postmenopausal women can be
well looked after.
The entire Phase 4 will take about 4 months following which data will be analyzed and the
document prepared which will be shared with IMS India and The Maharashtra Government.

along with Madurai Obstetrics Gynecology Society, ICOG & Education Committee of IMS
Attended by 120 gynaecologist .Dean Madurai Medical Collage Inaugurated the CME
Month of April 2019 -Cervical Cancer Screening CME & Live Colposcopy Workshop was organised
by IMS education Committee along with Stanley Medical College, Chennai. CME was
inaugurated by Dean Stanley Medical College and Live workshop was conducted by Prof.Ramani
Rajendren who had trained many gynecologist through NRHM .150 undergraduates and 30 Post
graduates were benefited

Mohit Gupta a young cardiologist from G.B.Pant Hospital Delhi at Sanjiv Kumar auditorium,Surat.
Hall had a capacity of 1200 people accommodation was having pindrop silence during their talk.

27th July 2019 - National Program-‘Swastha Pakhwada’
A National program-‘SWASTHA PAKHWADA’, a program undertaken by Resp. Prime minister of
India, was celebrated at IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) Bharuch. Rotary club of
Bharuch sponsored the entire program. A talk on ‘Vaginal hygiene’ was delivered by Dr. Bhavana.
More than 300 girls, mainly from rural areas attended the lecture. Free sanitary napkins and usable
cloth bag was distributed to the participants. They found the information very useful and a program
to teach them to prepare reusable pads will be undertaken shortly by Rotary club of Bharuch.

Common symptoms of thyroid dysfunction at Menopause at Hotel Celebration, Jail Road, Raipur,
CG.Total attendance for the CME was 55.
14th June 2019 a Tree Plantation Program by Raipur Chapter
Raipur chapter had organized a tree plantation program in association with CEFAC foundation
Raipur. 20 trees were planted at Saddu, Raipur.Dr. Manoj Chellani, Dr.Sushma Verma and
Dr.Gurpreet Soni actively participated in the program.along with the good support and
participation from the local residential peoples.

Healthcare Charitable Clinic (IMS-MHCC)”. Offer Primary and Preventive
Health Care for Older Women free of charge. Members are requested to
volunteer to provide subsidies and free ships to poor and needy 50+
women organize free - osteoporosis screening, pap smears.

Patiala menopause Society organized Varishta Janaswasthya Yojana Camp in the OPD of deptt.
Of OBGY, GMC. About 40 Perimenopaused & Menopausal Women were examined. By Gyane,
Medicine, Orthopedics, opthalmology. BP, Pulse, Wt, BMI, Cancer screening done ESP for cervix
and breast. BMD of all patients done .Patients were given, Calcium, Vitamin D3, and Analgesics &
Albendazole.

A free midlife health camp was conducted at mahila chikitsalaya.about 100women attended the
camp.they were examined for their problems pap's smear was done along with transvaginal usg
blood tests for anaemia,dm,lipid profile, thyroid disorders etc were done in addition to these, they
were also told about self breast examination for early diagnosis of any suspicious lumps.
