Clerical Markers
The IELTS Test Centre at the University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking Clerical Markers to join the IELTS testing team.
Clerical Markers mark the listening and reading components of the IELTS test with accuracy and according to IELTS
procedures, maintaining the highest levels of quality and integrity while complying with standard operating procedures and
policies. Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and apply rules as specified in the IELTS Marking Policy is
essential.
Duties:
Strict adherence to required procedures to ensure accuracy of marking procedures.
Marking the listening and reading components of the IELTS test, using indicators provided and ensuring: - Compliance with appropriate professional services standards - Adherence to IELTS policy and procedures
Maintaining appropriate standards of confidentiality with security of materials through adherence to IELTS policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Post-secondary education and fluency in the English language.
Ability to learn and understand the criteria and protocol related to assessment and test administration and to understand the complexities of the IELTS Marking Policy.
Attention to detail, trustworthiness, dependability, conscientiousness, reliability, punctuality.
Experience working in an environment where attention to detail and ability to understand, follow and enforce strict protocol and procedures are critical.
An understanding and commitment to maintaining appropriate standards of confidentiality and security of materials.
Appreciation/understanding of differences in cultural communication styles.
Pay Rate/hours of work: $17 per hour; part-time, flexible hours during weekends and potentially some weekday
availability may be required.
