UNITED NATIONS STAMPS USED FOR MAILINGUnited Nations stamps in United States dollar denominations are valid for postage only if mailed at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Stamps in Swiss franc denominations are valid for postage only if mailed at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland. Stamps in euro denominations are valid for postage only if mailed at the Vienna International Centre, Austria.

PRICESStamps are sold at face value. UN/Geneva and UN/Vienna stamps are sold at USD equivalent rates, rounded up to the nearest cent. The USD equivalents of the euro and Swiss franc denomination stamps are subject to fluctuating exchange rates.

SALES AND EXCHANGESEvery effort is made to provide UNPA customers with materials of the highest philatelic quality. Therefore, all sales are final and no exchange or refund will be made except where stamps are received in damaged condition.

CHANGE IN UNPA FIRST DAY COVERS SELLING PERIODPlease be advised that there has been a change in policy regarding the selling period of UNPA first day covers. Effective 2 September 2014, the selling period changed from three months to six months.

REGISTRATION THRESHOLDUNPA changed the registration threshold amount effective 15 July 2014. Orders valued at $200.00 and above are automatically registered.

WHEN ORDERING BY MAILThe item numbers used in this edition of Fascination identify the products and should be written on the order form in the Item Number column. The next column asks for a description of each item as a cross reference. In this space, you may also indicate any specific requests, e.g., special marginal inscription (M.I.) positions. Fill in the price in the appropriate column. Multiply the price by the number required of that particular item and enter the resulting figure in the amount column on the order form. Total your order and indicate whether registration of the order is requested. Add postage and handling charges. Enclose your remittance, and mail it to the indicated address.

LETTER FROM THE CHIEF Dear Collectors,

Welcome to the New Year! I hope that you have all enjoyed the holiday season.

We have some very exciting stamp issues to tell you about in this bulletin. In February, UNPA is proud to continue its very popular Flag Series. Eight new flag stamp designs of Member States whose flags have changed since they were first issued by UNPA will be featured on two stamp sheets. UNPA has also re-designed the Flag folder with a new updated look to accompany the series.

In March, because of its extreme popularity with collectors, UNPA will continue its stamp series on International Dance. The six stamp sheets will feature dance styles from Native American tribal dance to Polynesia, Quadrille, Japanese fan, Samba and Ballet.

UNPA is also issuing some special event sheets which include the Chinese Lunar Calendar — Year of the Rooster; International Day of Happiness — The Smurfs; and a three-stamp mini-sheet to commemorate the 34th Asian International Stamp Exhibition in Melbourne, Australia.

For the remainder of the year, UNPA will continue its very popular Endangered Species series and World Heritage series featuring the Silk Road. Other stamp issues that are planned will commemorate World Environment Day, International Day of Peace and World Food Day.

UN STAMPS WIN PRIZESUNPA is pleased to announce that it won several prizes at the 12th China Annual Best Foreign Stamp Poll Awards. The 2015 “70th Anniversary of the UN” stamps won the first prize for the “Best Sheet Theme Award”. The 2015 Endangered Species series won second prize in the “Best Stamp Award” and second prize in the “Best Stamp Printing Award” categories.

NANNING SHOW – MONKEY KING SHEETOn 2 December 2016, UNPA launched the “Monkey King” 3 stamp mini-sheet at the 33rd Asian International Stamp Exhibition in Nanning, China. The sheet was a huge success with collectors and has already sold out.

VICTO NGAI is a New York based, award-winning illustrator from Hong Kong. “Victo” is not a boy nor a typo, but a nickname derived from Victoria - a leftover from the British colonization.

Ngai’s work has appeared in books, newspa-pers, magazines, advertisements, and ani-mations. Among her many clients are The New York Times, The New Yorker, WSJ, General Electric, Lufthansa Airline, Johnnie Walker, Apple, IMAX, MTA Art and Design, McDonald’s and Penguin Random House. Ngai has received numerous honors for her work, including Forbes 30 Under 30 (Art and Style), medals from The Society for News Design, The Society of Publication Designers, Communication Arts, Spectrum Fantastic and the Society of Illustrators of New York.

Pascal Campion is a French-American artist living in sunny Los Angeles with his beautiful wife, three kids and curious little dog.

He likes to bike, tickle his kids and occasionally draw for animated movies, comic book covers, children books and for himself.

Jean-François Martin was born in Paris in 1967. He began his career as artistic director at Bayard Presse before becoming a youth illustrator in 1993. He works both for publishing and the press in France and abroad. His work is often characterized by elegant men wearing a black suit, tie, white shirt and a hat. He is the winner of the Bologna Ragazzi Award for the 2011 fiction album. He resides in Paris, France.

This is the eighth sheet issued for UNPA’s Lunar New Year stamp series. The sheet is composed of 10 $1.15 denominated stamps, featuring artwork by the famous Chinese artist, Mr. Yan Bingwu (China).

On 30 March 2017, UNPA will issue a new special event three-stamp mini-sheet to commemorate the FIAP 34th Asian International Stamp Exhibition in Melbourne, Australia. The stamps in the denominations of $1.15, CHF 2,00 and € 1,70 showcase animals from Australia: the koala, the kangaroo and the emu. The background of the sheet features Ayers Rock in Australia.

The sheet was designed by Lindsey Thoeng (United Nations).
