8 nations will battle for 1 place at the ICC World T20 Qualifier

Kieran McMillanICC Regional Development Manager East Asia-Pacific

Welcome to Lismore for the 2014 Pepsi ICC East Asia-Pacific Men’s Trophy in what promises to be our best senior men’s event ever as the game in our wonderful region continues to grow at a fast pace.

The Lismore public can be assured that the standard of cricket on show will be both of a high standard and extremely entertaining.

The atmosphere created at East Asia-Pacific events is truly unique and I would encourage the local community to come along and support these developing nations as they battle it out to be one step away from a place on the world stage.

The champion team will go on to compete next year in Ireland and Scotland at the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier event as a pathway to the ICC World Twenty20 2016.

Good luck to all teams and no doubt much hard work has gone into the past weeks and months with this goal in mind.

Finally I would like to acknowledge all the people that have worked so hard to make this event a success and one that all participants can look back on with fond memories.

Jenny DowellMayor Lismore

Welcome to Lismore to all teams, officials and spectators visiting for the 2014 Pepsi ICC East Asia-Pacific Trophy. Our City Council and residents are delighted to have teams from eight nations here for five days of T20 competition from November 19 to 23. Teams will play with the goal of qualifying for the ICC World T20 Qualifier held in Ireland and Scotland next year. I am sure that our region will see cricket of the highest standard. Lismore loves its sport and we are proud of the standard of our facilities so we hope you enjoy playing on our premier facility at Oakes Oval and also at Heaps, Blair and Mortimer Ovals. In welcoming teams from Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands, Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, our community also extends the hand of friendship and we hope that if this is your first visit to Lismore, it will not be your last. We have much to offer visitors so while cricket is your focus on this occasion, we would love to welcome you back to show you more of our city and region. So enjoy your stay and may the best team win.
