Message from our Chairman Timetable
A welcome message
I welcome choirs from all over the world to join us in 2015,for our fourth festival where competing and non-competingchoirs are equally welcome.
Mayo is a special place with a rich heritage including stunningscenery, mysterious archaeological sites and monuments,quaint and busy towns and villages, music, sport andendering customs. As a resident, and a member of the MayoMale Voice Choir, I know you will enjoy our county and people
during your visit. Highlights for visiting choirs include tours of Mayo, interacting with localchoirs, local performances, the Songway Choral Trail, the Dawn Chorus and the Saturdayevening Gala Concert. Our patron An Taoiseach (head of government) Enda Kenny andMichael Ring, TD, Minister of State for Tourism, both hail from County Mayo, and theycontinue to be big supporters of our festival.
I am grateful to the dedicated committee, festival director and festival administrator allwho work tirelessly behind the scenes over many months, and closer to our events, ourgrowing network of volunteers and venue and concert coordinators. Mayo CountyCouncil and Failte Ireland are also strong supporters, and we are also grateful for theassistance from LEADER through the South West Mayo Development Company. Choirsfrom Mayo have embraced the festival and play a major role in it’s success. ‘Is FéidirLinn’ - our motto in Gaelic, meaning ‘Yes We Can’.
Choirs, both competing and non-competing, will receive in advance of their trip, adetailed information pack, which will include competition times, venues and locationguides. Finally a reminder of our entry closing date: International choirs: December 31st,2014 and for choirs from Ireland: January 31st 2015. We do hope to see you at our festival.

Saturday, 23rd May 2015:• Competing choir performances and adjudications • The Songway Choral Trail
• Mayo tours • Gala Concert and massed choir, and afterwards the afterglow at theFestival Club
Sunday, 24th May 2015:• Dawn Chorus - all invited • Choirs perform at church services
