Introduction

International Calling provides US-based organizations with a way to send phone (voice) messages to

phones in any country in the world. International calling is available in a Pay-Per-Call Service Plan.

NOTE: Special services (such as calls to information) may be blocked to avoid incurring additional

charges and fees.

International phone numbers exist in a variety of formats, some have ten (10) digits as the US and

Canada, others have any number of digits (including the country codes). One Call Now has created

standards for entering or uploading international phone numbers that will accommodate as many

database systems as possible. These standards also allow for verification of the information entered in

your Roster.

Rates and fees for international destinations vary; to identify the number of call credits charged per

delivery, the Message Report displays detailed call delivery information as well as the number of credits

charged per destination.

Adding International Numbers to the Roster

International phone numbers can be added to your Roster using the same methods as US or Canadian

phone numbers: Using the Import Wizard or Manually.

Manually

Adding Members

The Add New Member button allows you to add a single member that may have multiple contact destinations (multiple phone numbers and/or email addresses) or that you want to add to one or more Subgroups.

1. Log in to your One Call Now account using your Group ID and password. 2. From the Group Leader Menu click Manage Group and then Roster. 3. Click the Add New Member button. 4. Enter the member name in the Name field 5. Choose a preferred language from the drop-down list.

6. Enter up to six (6) phone numbers per member. International phone numbers should be entered with a “+” prefix as shown here. Once entered, the country displays to confirm your phone number entry.

7. With Primary Number enabled, the Primary check box will appear. Click in the box next to one or more numbers to mark them as Primary Numbers.

8. Enter an optional description for each phone number. 9. When a US phone number is opted in to receive SMS text messages, a “Receiving Text”

option will display under the Opted-In for Text Messages column. At this time, International mobile phone numbers will say “Unsupported Location” under the Opted-in for Text Messages column.

10. Click the Save button to finish or the Save and Add New button to continue.

Using the Roster Import Wizard

The Import Wizard allows you to import a list of members’ names, phone numbers, and email addresses

from a spreadsheet or similar data file. Subgroups (West Coast Office, Engineering, Maintenance, etc.)

can be created based on information from the file. Members associated with these Subgroups are also

added during the import process.

Supported File Types

NOTE: Fixed-width files are not supported.

Descriptive Headers

The first row in the data file is referred to as a header row. Headers describe, for each column, the data

below. The Import Wizard can interpret the header row and automatically identify which columns are

which types of data.

Uploading your File

1. From the Group Leader menu, choose Manage Group then Import Wizard.

2. Click the Start Import button to begin.

3. Click the green Select button to locate your file on your computer.

4. Choose either the Replace, Add, or Delete option:

Replace will delete your current Roster and replace it with the information in the new file.

Add will keep your current Roster and add new members or update them if you have made

changes in your file.

Choose Delete if you are deleting members based on an external ID, such as a Student ID, in

your file. For more information, view the help file for deleting using the Import Wizard.

5. Click the Next Step button.

6. Select an option from the menu to tell the Import Wizard how you have formatted the phone

numbers in your file. There are three formats that can be imported:

o Domestic phone numbers are formatted area code and phone number and international

phone numbers begin with a plus sign (+). Example:

Domestic: (440)974-8295 (United States)

International: +443254445668 (United Kingdom)

o All phone numbers begin with their country code. Example:

Domestic: 14409748295 (United States)

International: 4432544456687 (United Kingdom)

o Country Code is in a separate column. Example:

Domestic: 1 (440)974-8295 (United States)

International: 44 32544456687 (United Kingdom)

7. If your file includes a Header Row, the Import Wizard will attempt to assign a data type for each

column. If your file does not include descriptive headers, click the radio button next to “No” under

the “First row in the file contains descriptive headers” option. Use the drop-down arrows at the top

of each column to assign a data type or to correct any that are in error.

8. Choose the “Do Not Import" from the drop-down list to exclude certain columns from the import.

9. If first and last names are in separate columns, select how you wish names to appear in the Roster.

You can include information from additional columns as well, such as a spouse's name, member ID

number, etc., with the Roster name listing. For example, "Jones, John, and Mary" can be a Roster

listing where there is a column of last name, first name, and spouse. NOTE: You can assign a

language to a member by adding a language column to your spreadsheet then selecting the

Language option from the drop-down list.

10. Click the Next Step button.

11. If you have Primary Number enabled, choose which column in your file identifies the Primary

Numbers for your members.

12. This sample roster shows how to configure Subgroups in your file.

13. When using the Import Wizard to create and add members to your Subgroups, there are several

options for additional configuration.

If you chose Replace or Add in step 4 above:

a. Replace

Clear Subgroups -Clears and replaces any members from Subgroups included in the file

for this import. No changes will be made to any Subgroups in your account that are not

listed in the file.

Delete Subgroups - erases all Subgroups from your current Roster and adds only the

Subgroups in your file.

b. Add

Leave Subgroups - leaves everyone in Subgroups (This is for adding additional people to

the Subgroups.)

Clear Subgroups - for each Subgroup listed in your file, all current members will be

cleared from the matching existing Subgroups. This leaves the Subgroups intact, but

opens those Subgroups for a new set of members. No members are deleted from your

Roster just cleared from the Subgroup.

You can combine multiple Subgroups from your file into a single Subgroup by entering the same

Subgroup number and name in the mapping controls for each Subgroup that you need to

combine.

NOTE: You can check or uncheck the box under the Include column for any Subgroup to include or

exclude it from the import. Additionally, you can rename any Subgroup in the Subgroup Name box

to the far right.

14. Click the Next Step button.

15. Before importing your file, the Confirm the import information screen is displayed. Verify that all

information is correct then click the Import button to import your file.

16. The status of your Roster Import is displayed. Press the F5 key to refresh your browser until the

status of your Import is complete.

Import Templates

Once you set up your import, a template can be saved and used for future imports. Using a template

prevents you from having to map columns and adjust Subgroup settings. When you use a template, the

file that you upload must be in the same format and order as the one used when the template was

created. If you have different file formats that you upload from, you can create a template for each.

Things to remember:

All files uploaded must contain one member per row.

At least one column must contain the member’s name for each row.

If located within the same area code, phone numbers do not have to have the area code

included in the phone number column of the spreadsheet.

Sending a Message-Using Your Roster

Sending messages to international phone numbers is virtually the same as sending a message to US or

Canadian phone numbers. For complete instructions on sending a message, refer to the Send a Message

Guide.

All messages sent to international phone numbers will require Caller ID. Caller ID can be set in

your Message Options settings or can be set when you send messages to your Group using the

One Call Now website.

Sending a Message-Using Canned Call

For instructions on sending messages using the Canned Call feature, please refer to our Help & Support

Center, search keyword: Canned Call.

The primary difference between domestic and international Canned Calls relates to how the phone

numbers are formatted in your Contacts spreadsheet. When sending a message, you are prompted to

upload your list. When uploading the list, you will select one of the following options:

For Canned Calls, the “format” of the phone number in your spreadsheet will need to be identified

for the Import Wizard. You identify the format on the Contacts screen (shown below). The

International SMS Text Messages

International SMS Text messaging is an optional feature. Unlike domestic SMS Text messages which use

short codes to share messages, International SMS messages use long codes. A long code is simply a

phone number.

Opting In for International SMS Text Messages

Phones outside of the US must opt-in to receive text messages.

Canada, Puerto Rico and US Territories

Phones in these areas will text “RESUME” to 9372400720

Other Countries

Phones in all other countries will text “RESUME” to +447937947401

Opt-outs

International recipients can opt-out of receiving phone messages while they are listening to a message

by pressing the star (*) key on their phone or by using the One Call Now website (shown below).

Members can visit www.onecallnow.com and click the Opt Out option at the bottom of the screen.

On the Removal Request page, members will enter the name, phone number and/or email address then

select a reason for being removed from your list.
