What is the IB

World Language (Language Acquisition)
History (Individuals & Society)
Sciences
Mathematics
The Arts (or another course from one of the other areas)
PLUS:
The core (Extended Essay, CAS, and TOK)
Why should your
student choose IB?
IB will help your student cultivate the skills necessary to take on any challenge.
Balanced course of study – humanities and sciences
A program that is known and respected throughout the world
University preparation. Students learn how to handle intense workloads and manage their time prior to enrolling in a university.
Development of advanced skills. Students analyze the world around them with an emphasis on written and oral communication.
Cultivates the whole student through CAS.
The Extended Essay prepares teaches students how to complete a coherent and analytical 4000-word research paper.
Final IB grades are determined through a mix of coursework and exam performance.
“One of the advantages of
an IB curriculum is its structure
and quality. It is a
coordinated program, well
established, well-known and
well-respected. We know the
quality of IB courses, and we
think the IB curriculum is
terrific.” Christoph Guttentag Director of
Undergraduate Admissions
Duke University
“IB is well-known to us for
excellent preparation. Success in
an IB programme correlates well
with success at Harvard. We are
always pleased to see the
credentials of the IB Diploma
Programme on the transcript.
GPA is not nearly as important a
factor in university admission as
the IB Diploma. If a student has to
choose, choose the Diploma
over protecting the GPA.” Marilyn McGrath Lewis Director of Admissions Harvard
University
What are others saying about IB?
I never liked school, or was
good at school, but in IB
everyone is so close and it
makes it better. The teachers
are passionate about the
subjects they are teaching.
The teachers not only care
about the students’
academic life but also their
well being in their personal
lives.
The IB programme helped me
become better organized and
manage my time wisely which
has greatly benefitted me in
college. By taking rigorous
courses it also taught me how to
study well. IB also helped me form
friendships that I would have
never formed and interact with
people that had differing
viewpoints and perspectives than
me which helped me become a
better person.
What are our students saying?
Support in the IB programme
Students will have the comfort of
knowing that there is a support system
in place to help them navigate the IB
Diploma Programme.
