Cracked Cement, a new laminate design from Interior Arts, covered the walls and floors of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, where more than 300 sheets of the laminate were dramatically featured in the “Pavillion” area at New York’s Lincoln Center, in February 2014. Cracked Cement was the backdrop for over 20 runway shows during Fashion Week, where designers presented their Fall 2014 Collections. Introduced by Interior Arts in Fall 2013, #2005 Cracked Cement is one of 4 new designs from Interior Arts. It’s an industrial appearance – a gently textured cement wall - with the installation ease of a laminate. “Cracked Cement is a trending laminate look right now,” says Geoff Schaefer, Creative Director and President at Chemetal / Treefrog/ InteriorArts, “It's an immersive design and a neutral palette, off whites and greys, that lends itself to being an extremely functional background for many colors. It was a cool and very smart choice for all the designs of Fashion Week.” Cracked Cement was presented to Kadan Productions (kadaninc.com), designers of the Pavilion Area at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Kadan, along with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, chose #2005 Cracked Cement as the surfacing material for the Pavilion area. The Pavillion was one of several areas made available to fashion brands and designers to stage runway shows. #2005 Cracked Cement was installed as both flooring and wall covering in this common space. InteriorArts is a new laminate collection, launched at NeoCon in 2012 by Chemetal and Treefrog Veneer, two specialty laminate brands known for excellent products and great customer service. InteriorArts isn't just another laminate; it's a curated collection of 78 textured and popular wood looks and unique designs available through the company’s national distributor network. InteriorArts HPL Design Laminates are sourced from a supplier who is GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® and GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certified®, product certification programs for low VOC-emitting building materials.
