2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE SHUTDOWN AND REMOVAL OF EXISTING SYSTEMS ANDEQUIPMENT AND THE INSTALLATION OF NEW SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT WITH THE PROJECTCONSTRUCTION PHASING SCHEDULE.
3. PROVIDE ALL METHODS AND MATERIALS FOR SUPPORTING EQUIPMENT, PIPING, AND DUCTWORK. INAREAS OF BAR JOIST CONSTRUCTION, SUPPORT LOADS FROM TOP CHORD OF BAR JOISTS AT PANELPOINTS.
4. UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM ALL CUTTING AND PATCHING OFTHE EXISTING FACILITY FOR HIS RESPECTIVE WORK. PATCHING SHALL MATCH EXISTING MATERIALS,FINISHES, AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION.
A. PROVIDE LINTELS WHERE PENETRATING EXISTING MASONRY CONSTRUCTION; SUBMIT SHOPDRAWINGS ON LINTELS, INDICATING SIZE AND TYPE, FOR PENETRATIONS OF LOAD BEARINGMASONRY WALLS.
B. OBTAIN THE SERVICES OF AN APPROVED ROOFING CONTRACTOR TO PERFORM CUTTING ANDPATCHING OF THE ROOF MEMBRANE AND INSULATION. CUTTING AND PATCHING SHALL COMPLY WITHEXISTING ROOF WARRANTY REQUIREMENTS.
C. PROVIDE STEEL FRAMING ANGLES WHERE PENETRATING ROOF DECKS; ANGLES SHALL BE MINIMUM4” x 4” x 1/4” UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
D. WHERE CUTTING AND PATCHING IS INDICATED TO BE PERFORMED BY OTHERS, COORDINATE THESIZE AND LOCATION OF OPENINGS.
7. IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE OWNER OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE IF ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS SUCH ASASBESTOS IS ENCOUNTERED DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE NECESSARYPRECAUTIONS TO AVOID DISTURBING EXISTING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. THE MECHANICALCONTRACTOR SHALL NOT PERFORM ABATEMENT WORK AS PART OF THIS CONTRACT.
8. ALL MATERIAL EXPOSED WITHIN THE CEILING RETURN AIR PLENUMS SHALL BE NONCOMBUSTIBLE ORHAVE A MAXIMUM FLAME SPREAD RATING OF 25 AND A MAXIMUM SMOKE-DEVELOPED RATING OF 50.ALL DUCT TYPE, MASTICS, AND VIBRATION ISOLATION CONNECTIONS SHALL HAVE A MAXIMUM FLAMESPREAD RATING OF 25 AND SMOKE SPREAD RATING OF 50 OR LESS. DUCT COVERING AND LININGSSHALL NOT FLAME, GLOW, SMOLDER, OR SMOKE WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM C411 ANDUL 181. FLEXIBLE DUCTWORK SHALL COMPLY WITH UL 181.
9. PROVIDE UL LISTED FIRE PROOFING SEALANTS AROUND ALL DUCT, PIPING, AND CONDUITPENETRATIONS OF RATED FIRE RESISTANT WALLS. PROVIDE UL LISTED DRAFT STOPPING SEALANTSAROUND ALL DUCT, PIPING, AND CONDUIT PENETRATIONS OF NON-RATED FLOORS.
10. VERIFY REFRIGERANT PIPE SIZES WITH AIR-CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS.
11. MOUNT THERMOSTATS AND SIMILAR CONTROL DEVICES 48” AFF.
12. PERFORM START-UP EQUIPMENT IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURERS' WRITTENSTART-UP INSTRUCTIONS OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH FACTORY AUTHORIZED TECHNICIANS. ADJUSTAUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROLS TO ACHIEVE SATISFACTORY TEMPERATURE AND/OR HUMIDITYCONTROL AS APPLICABLE.
13. UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED, ALL DUCTWORK SHALL BE OF SHEET METAL CONSTRUCTION WITHSEALED JOINTS. ROUND FLEXIBLE DUCTWORK SHALL BE LIMITED TO 6'-0" PER BRANCH DUCT
14. DO NOT UTILIZE AIR HANDLING EQUIPMENT AND DUCTED SYSTEMS FOR TEMPORARY HEAT; OBTAINWRITTEN APPROVAL FROM THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO PLACING EQUIPMENT INTO SUSTAINEDOPERATION. CHANGE ALL AIR FILTERS 30 DAYS AFTER PROJECT COMPLETION.
15. PROVIDE IDENTIFICATION OF MECHANICAL SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT INCLUDING DUCTWORK ANDPIPING.
A. PROVIDE LOCATION / IDENTIFICATION MARKERS ON CEILING GRID OR ACCESS PANELS FOR SHUT-OFFVALVES, CONTROL VALVES, FIRE DAMPERS, SMOKE DETECTORS, AND OTHER SERVICEABLE DEVICES.
B. PROVIDE LABELS ON FIRE DAMPER ACCESS DOORS OR PANELS. LETTER SIZE SHALL BE 1/2".

DISCONNECT PIPING FROM OBSOLETE FIXTURES OREQUIPMENT WHICH IS TO BE REMOVED BY OTHERS AND CAP AND REMOVE PIPING INSAME MANNER. EXISTING FLOOR DRAINS AND CLEANOUTS ARE TO REMAIN UNLESSOTHERWISE NOTED. PIPING REMOVED FROM THE EXISTING PLUMBING SYSTEM SHALLNOT BE USED IN THE INSTALLATION OF THE NEW SYSTEM.
IN ALL AREAS WHERE PATCHING IS REQUIRED, THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALLPATCH THE SUB-SURFACE WHERE THE NEW SURFACE IS TO BE FINISHED BY THEGENERAL CONTRACTOR. THIS SUB-SURFACE MUST BE PROVIDED SO THAT IS DOES NOTINHIBIT THE INSTALLATION OF OR AFFECT THE APPEARANCE OF THE NEW FINISH. MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE/ REPLACE EXISTING CEILING TILES AND GRIDAS REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH INDICATED WORK, UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INDICATEDOTHERWISE. REFER TO THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS FOR FINISH TREATMENT OFSPACES.
1. PROVIDE ALL LABOR, MATERIAL, AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR THE COMPLETIONAND OPERATION OF ALL PLUMBING SYSTEMS IN THIS SECTION OF WORK INACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES.
2. THE PLUMBING DRAWINGS SHALL BE CONSIDERED AS BEING DIAGRAMMATIC AND ARENOT TO BE SCALED FOR THE ACCURATE CUTTING OF PIPE OR ITS EXACT PLACEMENT,BUT THEY SHALL BE FOLLOWED AS CLOSELY AS ACTUAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTIONAND THE WORK OF OTHER TRADES WILL PERMIT. BEFORE ANY PIPING IS INSTALLED,CONFER WITH ALL OTHER CONTRACTORS IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE LOCATIONS OFTHEIR PIPING, CONDUIT, DUCTWORK, GRILLES, FOUNDATIONS, STRUCTURAL STEEL,LIGHTING FIXTURES AND OTHER EQUIPMENT SO AS TO AVOID INTERFERENCE. 4. ALL FIXTURES SHALL BE COMPLETE AND INCLUDE SUPPLIES, STOPS, VALVES, FAUCETS,DRAINS, TRAPS, TAILPIECES, ESCUTCHEONS, ETC. TRAPS FOR ALL LAVATORIES ANDSINKS SHALL BE REMOVABLE. LOCATE VALVES IN A READILY ACCESSIBLE LOCATION.ALL EXPOSED WASTE AND SUPPLY PIPING LOCATED IN FINISHED AREAS SHALL BECHROME PLATED BRASS.
5. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE ON THE DRAWINGS, ALL WASTE PIPING BELOW GRADESHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 2" IN SIZE.
6. SECURE ALL PERMITS, INSPECTION CERTIFICATES, ETC., AND PAY ALL CHARGESCONNECTED WITH SAME.
7. ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE NEW AND SHALL FIT THE SPACE AVAILABLE. VERIFYDIMENSIONS AT SITE.

PROVIDEADDITIONAL TEMPORARY HANGERS/CABLES REQUIRED TO SUPPORT REMAININGCEILING, LIGHT FIXTURES, DEVICES, ETC. STORE EXISTING CEILING TILES AND GRID INA SAFE LOCATION AND RE-INSTALL ONCE THE WORK IS COMPLETED. REPLACEDAMAGED TILES AND GRID WITH NEW TO MATCH EXISTING. 10. ALL VALVES, CLEANOUTS, ETC., SHALL BE LOCATED AND INSTALLED TO PERMITACCESS FOR SERVICE WITHOUT DAMAGE TO BUILDING OR FINISHED MATERIALS.
11. PROVIDE CLEANOUTS ON ALL ACCESSIBLE TRAPS, AT THE BASE OF ALL SOIL/WASTESTACKS AND AT EACH CHANGE OF DIRECTION OF PIPING GREATER THAN 45 DEGREESAND LOCATED AT INTERVALS NOT TO EXCEED THE MAXIMUM PERMITTED BY THEAPPLICABLE PLUMBING CODE AND AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS.
12. STERILIZE NEW DOMESTIC WATER PIPING AND PORTIONS OF THE EXISTING PIPINGTHAT HAVE BEEN ALTERED, EXTENDED, OR REPAIRED PRIOR TO USING. COMPLY WITHPURGING AND DISINFECTING PROCEDURES PRESCRIBED BY AUTHORITIES HAVINGJURISDICTION OR, IN THE ABSENCE OF PRESCRIBED METHOD, THE PROCEDURESDESCRIBED IN EITHER AWWA C651 OR AWWA C652, OR AS DESCRIBED IN THEAPPLICABLE PLUMBING CODE. FURNISH STERILIZATION REPORT TO ENGINEER UPONCOMPLETION.
13. ALL DOMESTIC WATER PIPING SHALL BE HUNG LEVEL WITHOUT PITCH.
14. COPPER PIPING SHALL BE PROTECTED AGAINST CONTACT WITH DISSIMILAR METALS.ALL HANGERS, SUPPORTS, ANCHORS, AND CLIPS SHALL BE COPPER OR COPPERPLATED. WHERE COPPER PIPING IS CARRIED ON IRON TRAPEZE HANGERS WITHOTHER PIPING, SATISFACTORY AND PERMANENT ELECTROLYTIC ISOLATION MATERIALSHALL PREVENT CONTACT WITH OTHER METALS.
15. WATER PIPING SHALL NOT BE RUN IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES.WATER PIPING IN EXTERIOR WALLS SHALL BE RUN ON CONDITIONED SIDE OF THEINSULATION.
