From the Editor’s desk…

In pursuit of ways to maintain and enhance quality in

different aspects of higher education, the session 2015 –

16 started with a new zeal and enthusiasm.

Various integrated activities were organized to enthuse,

enlighten and empower the students for the life beyond

classroom.

An Interdisciplinary Workshop on Case Study Approach and

Developing Skills for Effective Reading was organized which

provided practical knowledge of developing scientific skill

for effective reading and perceiving.

A Workshop on Sculpture and Clay Modeling was

organized which not only helped the students to develop

their creativity but also promoted experiential learning

workshops on various career options such as Radio Jockey

was organized to create awareness regarding its

importance as a future career.

Com Edufest was celebrated by Department of Commerce

which included students’ Seminar on current policies of

Government such as Smart India – Digital India, Startup

India etc.

The Sports Association of the College organized various

indoor and outdoor games in the Campus.

The College is continuously marching towards higher

distinctions in numerous fields of curricular and extra-

curricular activities.

The Editorial Board has made sincere efforts to cover all the

activities held, any omission is regretted.

Interdisciplinary Workshop

December 8 - 9, 2015

An Interdisciplinary Workshop on Case Study Approach and Developing

Skills for Effective Reading was organized by the Departments of

Sociology, English, Education, Anc. History and Geography on

December 8 - 9, 2015.

The resource person was Prof. Arrpiet Trivedi, IIEBM, Pune.

The aim of the workshop on Case Study Approach was to identify,

describe, diagnose and solve the problems scientifically.

In Developing Skills for Effective Reading the techniques of reading,

Skimming and Scanning were explained and demonstrated. It is a

scientific skill which helps the reader to perceive, retain and assimilate

the subject matter effectively.

Four sessions were held in two days. A large number of students actively

participated. Assigments were given to students in groups for

presentation and

discussion.

Sgt Bhawna Maurya touched Sandakfu, which is the highest peak of West

Bengal situated on the border of West Bengal of India and Nepal at an

altitude of around 11,941 feet (3636 meters). She also cover Tiger Hill

altitude around 8482 feet (2590 meters).

Cdt Bhawna Maurya and Cdt Sakshi Pandey won Bronze Medal for

Judging Distance and Field Signals in All India Thal Sena Camp Delhi 2015

at National Level Competition.

NCC Directorate UTTAR PRADESH . The award was given by Major General S.S.

Mamak, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate (UP) Lucknow on NCC

day. Capt. Dr. Archana Paul has performed exceptionally well during training

activity in year 2015-16. And also received cash award of Rs. 1000/-.

the career were highlighted. More than 60 students

participated.

Nov. 4, 2015 Workshop

Organized a workshop on Career Counselling in collaboration

with the University Employment Bureau for different career

options for students in today’s scenario. Mr. L.C. Singh, Dy. Chief,

University Employment Bureau, A.U. and Mr. Arvind Kumar,

Statistical Officer, Regional Employment Office, Alld addressed

the students with their team. More than 50 students took part.

Nov. 6, 2015 Workshop (Under CPE Phase II)

A workshop on Civil Services as Career was organized. The

resource persons were young future officers who had cracked

the UPPSC examination, 2014. Mr. Brijesh Kumar, Supdt. Of Jail,

Mr. Vijay Dev Yadav, Sub Registrar, Mr. Veer Bahadur Singh, Dy.

Collector, motivated the students through their own real life

experiences. They talked about the popular subjects in PCS,

methods of studying and preparing for final interviews. It was a

very inspiring workshop and more than 80 students participated.

Nov. 19-21, 2015 Workshop (Under CPE Phase II)

Three days workshop on Sculpture and Clay Modelling was

organized in collaboration with Allahabad National Museum. Dr.

Nagina, an expert in visual arts was the resource person. Very

innovative avenues of skill development and entrepreneurship

were explored in this field of Sculpture and clay modeling. Dr.

Nagina demonstrated ways of making clay pots, figure heads,

figures and sculptures. More than 35 students participated very

actively. 26 students with regular attendance received

certificates.

Employability a motivational lecture by Prof. Arrpiet Trivedi, from

IIEBM Pune, a well known expert in career counseling.

Dec. 3 & 4, 2015 Workshop

Workshop of two days on Radio Jockey as a career was

conducted by Mr. Rahul Chawla, a well known popular

character in the city commonly known as “Bablu Bhaiya”, also

RJ Shadab and Sameer of Academy of Radio.

This option was open to those students who did not want to

settle for ordinary jobs, but who wanted an exciting job in Radio

Board Casting, a very upcoming line. More than 75 students

participated.
