FLINT COMMUNITY INITIATIVE PROGRAM
Mirrored on the successful InnovateGov program, which provides an immersive service learning experience in Detroit, the College of Social Science is launching a summer immersive experiential learning opportunity in Flint for undergraduate and graduate students at MSU. All majors are welcome! Students will complete courses and live in dorms at UM-Flint while working with community partners in nonprofit and civic organizations. FLINT SUMMER INTERNSHIPS DEADLINE MARCH 15 There is still room for a few students in this summer’s Flint Internship Program. Here are the specifics on some new opportunities that you may be interested in. The following positions are still available:
Kettering University – Public Health Intern Peckham Flint – Youth Career Academy Coordinator MSU College of Human Medicine – Research Intern Shelter of Flint – Emergency Shelter Case Management, Homeless
Outreach and Call Center Support Interns Applications will be accepted through March 15th.
Whether you are a student from the Flint area or someone from outside Michigan who wants to make a difference, MSU's Flint Program is for you! Benefit from hands-on learning in fields of interest while contributing to the mission of a community organization and revitalization of the Flint area.
Semester: Summer Dates: June to Mid-August, 10 week internship Application Deadline: EXTENDED TO March 15, 2019 Courses: Student will earn a minimum of 6 credits in SOC 498, SSC 493, SSC 490, HDFS and MC options, too. Housing: Downtown Flint, parking is included Eligibility: 2.5 minimum GPA encouraged, but not required Program Fee: None!!
