What’s Already Known About the American Crocodile

• The American crocodile lives in some parts of south Florida but originally is from south America and Central America in

places such as the Dominican Republic.• The American Crocodile is becoming endangered in all

areas of location. Its habitat is being destroyed which takes away food supply as well.

• The American Crocodile differs from the American Alligator because when its mouth is closed you can still see 2 of its teeth which I believe are the sixth on each side. It also has a longer snout and differs in color. The American Crocodile

tends to be more of an brownish or grayish color rather than green as its cousin the American Alligator.

• There are some instances in where you will have a white or albino American Crocodile but on various rare occasions

and locations.

In the Dominican Republic, the

American Crocodile is one

of the many animals that’s

now endangered.

The main environmental problems that arises in the Dominican Republic are in the areas of deforestation, water supply, and soil erosion. These effect the living

environment and food supply of the American Crocodile. This here is the problem. What can be done

to protect the American Crocodile from further endangerment and possibly even extinction?

Possible Solutions

• Provide adequate

enforcement of Protection

Laws.• Build

preserves.• Adopt an

American Crocodile.

• Report violations of conservation laws to federal and state

authorities.• Plant a refuge for wildlife (and energy and water conservation).

Best Possible Solution

• I believe the best possible solution would be to Plant a refuge for wildlife (and energy and water conservation).

This would not only help the American Crocodiles’ habitat in the Dominican Republic but save this reptile from

extinction. The planting of a refuge would create an environment for the American Crocodile to live, eat, and grow without any form of interruption. In this refuge their

would be no worry of habitat destruction, or illegal hunting of the American Crocodiles.
