SUMMARY
CHALLENGE
Manufacturing companies had an immediate need to fulfill different job openings
Through 2014, InterConnecta worked with Stony Brook University to collect information about Long Island employers in the manufacturing industry. This work was aimed at building a database of employers and their specific workforce needs, in order to identify work opportuni-ties within the manufacturing sector.
The project focused on obtaining real time manufacturing workforce information to share with labor, education and other relevant local go-vernment stakeholders; to align training and employment in this demand sector.
The main challenge was to reach manufacturing employers in the Long Island area and collect their current and future work-force requirements. This information needed to be automati-cally transferred to a database for access on demand.
While developing the project we discovered an additionalchallenge:

SOLUTION
We identified our target audience by develo-ping a list of manufacturing companies in the Long Island area.
Utilizing a CRM system, company lists were segmented and synchronized with the email marketing solution.
InterConnecta survey development team conducted phone interviews with employers, to identify manufacturing sector workforce requirements.
At the same time, our electronic design team prepared a series of email communications with a link to an online survey. Several blasts were sent, between April and December 2014. Considering the length of the survey, the e-mails were followed up by phone calls in order to increase completion rates.
InterConnecta also created an automa-ted online job order form in conjunction with the Suffolk County Department of Labor in order to distribute information regarding opportunities to workforce initiatives stakeholders in real time.
