FACTS

The Integumentary system, or skin, is the

largest organ. It is made of the skin as well

as hair and nails. In humans, this system

accounts for about 12-15 percent of total

body weight with a surface area of 1 through

2 meters. It is also one of the first lines of

defense from the outside.

The function of the system

The functions of the Integumentary system is

that is serves to waterproof and protect your body,

sensory, temperature regulation and vitamin D

production

Skin Donation

• A person can decide to donate his or her skin in the same way as any other organ.

• The skin that was donated can be used as a temporary treatment for patients with severe burns and while the patient's own skin heals, it can be implanted on the burned area as a permanent covering. You can also sign up for donation after death.

Skin Donation• They will still try to save your life though so the skin will

only be taken after the death of the person.• Donating skin will not cause body disfigurement• The skin harvest is composed of a very thin layer of skin

taken from the abdomen, back and legs.

Tattoo Skin Damage

A tattoo is essentially a

series of punctures that insert

dye into different levels of the

skin, so it is by nature an

invasive process. You may also

have a reaction to the tattoo, in

which bumps called granulomas,

a mass of granulation tissue, or

excessive scarring may appear.

This person on the left side as you can see has a lot of make up on , and slowly her fade away …

This is Nini Smalls she has her whole body covered of tattoo’s .. All of that ink invades her skin.

This is an example of how she looks WITH & WITOUT MAKEUP. As you can tell her natural beauty faded away. The left side doesn’t look anything like the right one.
