We would like to promote the use of @bitsaa.org email IDs to promote our organization within and outside the BITSian community. But, often due to the convenience of using an existing email ID as opposed to yet another email, Leaders do not use it. This tutorial guides you to a simple 2-minute process of integrating @bitsaa.org email with your existing email account! It’s simple!
Not to mention, at any time, if you face a difficulty, you can get back to the BITSAA Technology Team. We are just an email away!

Get to know your @bitsaa.org ID service1
Description
The BITSAA email service is hosted on Google Apps and hence, as you might have seen by now, it is similar in look and feel to any Gmail account.
At http://mail.bitsaa.org/, login with your username and password.
Please note that this username is no way related to the one you use d to register on the BITSAA.org portal.

Visiting your Inbox2

This is how your inbox looks like at BITSAA email.
1.Choose Settings from the top right hand side.

Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP 3
Description
1.Locate the ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP’ tab under Settings page.
2.To set forwarding for all BITSAA account emails to another email ID, select the ‘Forward a copy of incoming email to’ option and enter the email address in the text box. We also advice to select the ‘keep BITSAA International Mail’s copy in the inbox’ option to retrieve all mails later if required.
3.Click on ‘Save Changes’ to apply.
All your BITSAA account email messages from now on will be forwarded to your existing email account. Do a test mail.

Use Gmail to send email as [email protected]
Description
To save the trouble of checking yet another email account, you can integrate your @bitsaa.org email into Gmail and send email from your @bitsaa.org ID.
1.On the Setting page, click on ‘Send mail from another address’ and add your [email protected] account to the list.
2.Under the option ‘When receiving a message’ select ‘Reply from the same address the message was sent to’ to retain the @bitsaa.org address in emails sent by you.

You are now good to go!From the Technology Team’s side, you now possess all the knowledge to setup forwarding on your @bitsaa.org email account. Thereafter, you can setup filters/labels to help segregate BITSAA mails from personal/office emails in your existing inbox.
