SLOs include: Conditions under which performancewill be assessed simulation, lab,portfolio, writing task Criteria or standards for assessingstudent performance Rubric for scoring student performance 13. Example Program Outcome Upon Completion of A.A. in a ForeignLanguage, the student will construct effectivelanguage that communicates clearly to anative speaker. Assessment Method: During an interview aspart of the final exam, the student willdemonstrate the use of conversational skillsby asking questions and making spontaneousstatements. Scoring will be based on aforeign language assessment grid. 14. Sample Course Outcome Upon completion of a Foreign Languagecourse, the student will speak thelanguage by responding appropriatelyto a set of predetermined questions. Assessment method: Duringperformance exam, students responsewill be scored based on an assessmentgrid. 15. Sample: Student Services;Counseling, Interpreting The student will independently accessand utilize the services as evidenced bymaking an appointment, requestingservices, and following through withadvice. 16. Third Step: Assessment Analyze the evidence to determine thedegree to which students meet thelearning outcomes. Plan for improvement Act on the plan Close the feedback loop! 17.
