Maximum reliabilitydue to full redundancy

The task of a fire alarm system is to detect a fire at theearliest possible time and alert the emergency services.A broken cable, a short circuit or a defective electroniccomponent should under no circumstances interferewith this function. As the fire alarm system becomesbigger, it becomes more important that it is one hundredpercent reliable because there are more people that needto be evacuated and the potential loss is higher e.g.due to interruption of business operations.

The unique fire alarm system Integral IP performs allfunctions and tasks reliably and without interruption,even in the event of a fault. In a consistent redundancyconcept, all the components of the fire alarm controlpanel are designed in duplicate, all conduction pathsare redundant and a highly innovative intelligencesystem is integrated to detect faults. This is the onlyway that a fire alarm system can achieve its purpose –protect lives and secure values.

Redundant network

The possibility of line interruptions – whichcould be caused by construction work on thepremises, expansions and modernisation or evena fire itself – cannot be ruled out. For this reason,all internal system connections and also the entirenetwork of Integral IP systems are implementedaccording to a redundancy system. In case ofconnection problems, the mesh networkautomatically and without interruption findsan alternative route. The system remainsfully active and there is ample time toproperly plan repairs and rectify anypossible malfunction.

Redundant operation

Clear information about the situation and abouteach event, as well as unrestricted operability ofthe entire fire detection and extinguishing systemare essential requirements for every situation. Forthis reason, connections and interfaces to externaloperating and indicator panels are duplicated.This form of redundant operating panel interfaceensures full operability of the system and a cleardisplay of all events, with clear informationregarding location and time, even in the event offailure of a line. Control panels in the fire alarmcontrol panel can thus be economised and operationtakes place where it is needed.

Redundant loop

All automatic fire detectors, manual call points, acousticand visual alarm devices and control modules areconnected in a loop system. Thanks to the short circuitisolator, which is without exception integrated into everyloop circuit device, the loop can be wired and configuredacross all fire sections and functions. If there is a shortcircuit, the integrated short circuit isolator disconnectsthe damaged part of the line, and all the devices on theX-LINE are connected via the remaining stub lines andremain fully functional – just as in the case of a wirebreakage. Accurate localisation of the damaged linesection facilitates troubleshooting and saves valuablecommissioning and service time.

Redundant control panel

All modules, power supplies, bus systems and softwareroutines of the Schrack Seconet Integral IP MX firealarm control panel are redundant. If the active sidefails, the second system – which constantly runs in“hot standby” mode – takes over automatically andwithout interruption. Any fault is thereforecompensated, no matter where it occurs. The fire alarmsystem always remains fully operational and fires canbe detected quickly and reliably, even in the event ofa fault. All data and messages are reliably conveyedand processed, and all fire control systems – e.g.ventilation flaps, fire compartment doors andextinguishing functions – are controlled.

The operating interfaces of the Integral IPsystems are continuously improved basedon customer needs and the requirementsof fire brigades and are available in morethan 20 languages. Manual call points

For manual triggering of a fire alarmaccording to EN 54-11, a variety of manualcall points (type A or B) are available indifferent versions and with different protectionclasses. The portfolio also includes manualcall points in other colours as well as stopand actuation buttons for manual triggeringan extinguishing operation.

Input & output modules

There are a large number of control modulesfor the connection of peripheral devices.Depending on the model, potential-freecontacts can be interrogated, hazardous areasmonitored, loads switched by relays, or specialfire alarm systems can be integrated.

X-LINE

The Integral X-LINE offers the perfect combination of detection and alerting. At a length of up to 3,500 meters,up to 250 high-performance and energy-efficient loop circuit devices can communicate with the fire alarm controlpanel. The short circuit isolator, which is integrated into every X-LINE device as standard, ensures planningsecurity as well as unlimited functioning in the event of a short circuit, wire break or sabotage.

Signalling devices

For acoustic and/or optical signallingof a fire, Schrack Seconet offers a variety ofsignalling devices in various colours anddesigns. All devices have an EN 54certification and/or a VdS-approval.In addition, there is a complete range offlashing lights that conform to theEN 54-23 European standard.

Holding magnet

The door holding magnet is used for automaticclosing of fire doors in the event of an alarm.Unlike with conventional magnets, this is notpermanently powered, but keeps the dooropen with a permanent magnet entirelywithout energy consumption.

Config over Line

Thanks to the unique “Config over Line”function, configuration, commissioning andmaintenance of special fire detectors thatare connected directly to the loop can becarried out quickly and conveniently fromthe control panel. Data exchange andcommunication take place via theexisting X-LINE.

With the special fire alarm technologyproduct range, Schrack Seconet offersthe right solution for every application,thereby guaranteeing fire detection evenunder the most difficult atmosphericconditions, such as extreme airhumidity and pollution, hightemperatures and highaltitudes etc.

Aspirating smoke detectors

These are robust, durable and highly sensitiveto developing fires, suitable for fire protectionin high rooms and halls as well as for areasthat are hard to reach. They also offer anideal solution for technical infrastructuremonitoring, e.g. electrical cabinets,machinery for manufacturing technologyor computer systems.

Flame detectors

These are used to detect smokelessliquid and gas fires as well as smoke-intensive, open fires in hazardous areas.Typical applications are large industrialwarehouses, aircraft hangars, chemicalplants, oil refineries, engine rooms,power stations etc.

The addressable LIST sensor cable ischaracterised by precise detection andhigh response speed, as well as easyinstallation and commissioning.Various sensor distances, branchesin the sensor cable and individualtemperature sensors provide theperfect solution for every application.

Duct smoke detectors

For fire detection inventilation systems or in placeswith high air velocity andstrong smoke dilution.Early smoke detection preventsfire and smoke from spreadingwithin and through theventilation system.

Line-type heat detectors

In extreme conditions such as heat, humidity,dust and steam or gas development, these proveto be particularly reliable. The robust temperaturesensing tube is ideal for high-temperatureapplications such as foundries, or areas withextreme temperature fluctuations such as industrialkitchens. Potentially explosive environments arebest protected by a special evaluation unit.

Linear smoke detectors

These are used where the maximuminstallation height of conventionalfire detectors is exceeded, the visualappearance may not be affected orlarge areas must be monitored,such as in high industrial, publicor historic buildings.
