BOOK-.REVIEW
"Medical Entomology" edited by Dr. Robert Matheson, Professor of New York State Colleg<:! of Agriculture, Cornell University (1932). pp. 485. Text-figures 2 I I.
This book is divided into 20 Chapters and all the known insects which may play a part in the transmission, causation and spread of human diseases are described and illustrated. The introductory text is offered to the physician, entomologist, the public worker, the student, and layman in order that may inform and arouse a keener interest in the problems involved with insectborne diseases. Although this book is p:lblished in United States of America, but .it mentions all the world known medical insects, even the Oriental species which were studied by our entomologists and physi<;:ians. The sactisfactory information of controlling the insects involved in disease transmission or causation is at hand, but the discussion of treatment is omitted. At the end of the first Chapter is enumerated a rather comprehensive list of text books, journals, and other p:lblications which enable the student to gain access to this rapidly growing field of research. Furthermore, each Chapter is provided with a selected bibliography and exact references bearing on the statements made in the text.
This book is highly recommended as an important up-to-date reference book to our entomologists and physicians.
