Instructions for Pacific Transcription Clients

Firstly, open up the app. You will see this home screen.

Recording a dictation1

Select ‘New Dictation’ to record a new dictation.

On-line, on-time and on-call

The following screen will appear.

Tap the record button to start and pause a dictation.

When the app is recording, the record button will appear as below. Beneath the bold ‘Dictation’ heading will be the word ‘Recording’.

To review what you have already dictated, simply press the record button to pause the recording.

You can then drag the red bar to any point within the

dictation and press the play button to listen.

To begin dictating where you left off, simply move the red bar to the far right end of the progress line and press record.

To add Pacific Transcription as a share option, firstly, press the ‘Details’ button on the top left to get to the following page.

Once you are on the Details page, press the ‘Dictations’ button on the top left. This will take you back to the home screen of the app.

You will now be able to see your dictation on the

home screen.

Next, press the cog button (settings) on the top left.

Select ‘Sharing’. Then select ‘Add sharing destination’.

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the ‘Destination’ page and press ‘Australia’. Finally, select ‘Pacific Transcription’.

On-line, on-time and on-call

Enter your Pacific Transcription username and password. Then press save.

Return to the home screen and select your dictation to open the Details page.

Pacific Transcription should now be an option

under Share.

From the Details page, click on ‘Pacific Transcription’.

You are now on the Notes page. You can add any notes you would like transferred to Pacific Transcription with your dictation. If you have no notes to add, simply don’t type anything.

Sending your dictation

Click Send to start the transfer process. You

will then be taken to the progress page.

Note that it says ‘Not yet uploaded’ as the file has not yet been sent to

Pacific Transcription’s systems.

On-line, on-time and on-call

This page shows the progress of your file upload to your Pacific Transcription client account. The app converts the file to a different audio format, and then sends it to the Pacific Transcription system.

You can follow the progress of these two

processes via the loading bars. Blue signifies the completion progress.

Once theses processes are complete, you will automatically be sent back to the Details screen.

Beneath the Pacific Transcription icon, you

will see the date and time the file was uploaded to your Pacific Transcription

account.

Once you have sent your dictation to Pacific Transcription, return to the home screen. You should be able to see your dictation.

To delete a dictation from those listed, simply swipe over the dictation from right to left. This will bring up the delete option.

Click Delete to remove the dictation from the list.
